Not exactly (but kind of yes). The people have no idea how they got there. Nobody knows what the "end-game" is, or how to get out. There are also people from different ages as well (not just young adults and teens). Also not just a free-for-all killing spree. Some games can have nobody die (or everyone). It's just more than a little weird.

I watched the first 2 or 3 episodes but quickly lost interest.... I can't remember why. I'm guessing I was trying to get Mrs Staybrite interested in watching something with me and she didn't care for it.... I probably would have kept watching, but had ton of other things I was trying to keep up with.

The Philadelphia Experiment (1984) The Philadelphia Experiment 2(1993) The Philadelphia Experiment (2012)
The ‘84 and ‘93 were great. The 2012 was a bit of a remake while also doing more. It felt odd that they had the guy that was the main lead in the other two films as a bad guy.

I had no idea they did a sequel in '93.... I do remember hearing about the "reboot" version in 2012 but didn't see it. My wife was a big fan of the 84 version (wasn't that Michael Pare as lead in the first film?)

Yes, that was him. He was in all 3 movies.
Also, a similar type of movie I saw not too long ago…. The Final Countdown (1980)
