That good huh?
It wasn't that it was bad... it was just blah. y'know ? I read graphic novels and some of the stories they have in the silly little comic books are WAYYYYYY better than what I've been seeing on the big screen lately (with the exception of Iron Man - all three were a 10 to me).

Good man. The new Batman movies are SOOOOOO overrated IMO. (The second one was decent though too long I thought.)

Right ? What's with the 2 and a 1/2 to 3 hours of dragging a story out ???
Batman begins was completely forgettable, The Dark Night with that genius actor who played joker was great, but cuz of him, not batman Then Rises tries to top the last one and completely failed in my book.
And though I liked the newest Spiderman (my fav character), I was disappointed with the SAME OLD TIRED stories.... PLEASE write something NEW !!!!!
I was kind of digging the whole Avengers thing, but again, these writers need to delve into some of the graphic novels out there and use some of the stories that are amazing in them !!!
My hopes are they will film a 3 parter on the CIVIL WAR series... omg that would be outrageously cool. The stories found in the Marvel Civil War are phenomenal !!

You know, I thought that Batman Begins was alright... the first time I saw it. I watched it again on a movie-night with some friends from church (I didn't pick it) and wow... it's terrible! Absolutely laughable.
Honestly, I've stopped watching superhero movies. They're just all the same... I did think Watchmen was really well done though. The first Kickass was fun too though I didn't get a chance to see the second. I dunno, I'm just getting tired of the same 'ol Hollywood stuff. I enjoy stuff more like this these days...

Dude. Watch it! It's so good! I definitely own it on Blu-Ray... I read an interesting take on the film that the whole thing is an analogy to Hollywood's lack of creativity, self-destruction, etc. It's pretty brilliant. The movie is absolutely hilarious, bizarre, creative (yet not pretentious), and a lot of fun. It does earn its R-rating though (language, violence, and very brief nudity).

Ok, I will give it a try. Looks like it can't be any worse than the garbage Hollywood is putting out now anyway.

I know at least for a while it was streaming on Netflix; it may still be. It's FAR BETTER than the vast majority of Hollywood garbage for sure! do a youtube search for "rubber opening scene" or something to that effect. If the opening monologue doesn't grab you, don't bother. But if, like me, you think it's great, then definitely check out the movie in its entirety!

Nice! Let me know what you think... It's definitely not for everyone, but I think it's pretty great! Also, if you do indeed enjoy it, the director also made another movie called Wrong which is quite good too. It's about a man searching for his lost dog but is rather avant-garde as well. Here's the trailer:

Haha yeah I thought that was pretty clever. The whole movie is like that. It's pretty bizarre but well done and a lot of fun.

Yup, should be fun! I love the silliness of the original and hope they keep with that on this one.
Just watched House (1986) last night. Super campy/silly/fun!

I finally saw that a couple of days ago. It was fairly good. Yet it also seemed a little weak. While I liked it ,I don't think I would get it.

Same for me with Oblivion. It was worth the Redbox rental for one night, though.

Thursday night we went to see a premier of a new faith-based film called Grace Unplugged. I know--you're thinking, "Not another low budget Christian film". But, this was actually done by Lionsgate so it's not low budget and actually has some professional actors in it. Check out the trailer and go see it in your city if you can find it.
It's got a great message but doesn't come off as preachy as some other Christian films. I think I am going to show it to my church kids just as soon as I can get this on DVD.

Last night I watched The Seventh Seal for the second or third time. Anyone else seen that one? It's an old Swedish flick from the 50's but is absolutely spectacular. The acting, cinematography, and especially plot/meaning/symbolism is amazing. I highly recommend. For those who are unfamiliar, it's about a knight and his squire who just return to Sweden from the Crusades and Death has come for him/them. The knight challenges Death to a game of chess and meets different people along the way - all in the setting of the bubonic (sp?) plague as it spreads throughout the land. It's a pretty heavy flick but oh so good...
