The title seemed familiar but couldn’t recall it. Looked up the trailer on YT and whoa, that looks freaky creepy. Considering it is from Dean Koonts, that explains why. Now a days I tend to stray away from those.

I've seen the Odd Thomas movie and read all the books.  Not nearly as creepy as it looks in the preview.  It certainly isn't a horror film, it just has horror type elements.  The character is really well written and they did a pretty decent job with the movie (I think it's certainly worth watching).  It's a bummer that Anton Yelchin (the guy who plays Thomas) died so young.  I think he had a promising acting career ahead of him.

^I haven't read the books but agree with everything else!  The ghosts are only slightly creepier - if at all - than a life-sucking mummy IMO.  Smile

I did enjoy Hawkeye.  The replacement for him made sense the way they spun it.

Moon Knight was good, too.  Ms. Marvel and now She-Hulk were pretty bad.

You sexist bigot.  (Just kidding!  Razz)

Marvel lost me a looooooong time ago.  I think the last one I saw was The Avengers 2 which was pretty terrible.

I remember seeing the previews for that a few years back.  It looked interesting, but I never did watch it.  I should try to catch it before it leaves Prime.

I still need to see Halloween Kills. Maybe one day in the next week or two I can see both.

Over the past week we have been watching all of the Harry Potter movies. Our youngest daughter is 12 and did not remember them from when she was much younger. We finished them up Thursday and then heard that Robbie Crane (Hagrid) passed away the day after we finished the series.

You are going to Hell for watching a movie about witches!  Greg Locke has spoken!   lol!

We were going to try to watch the new one.  We started watching the original which I had seen but my wife never had.  After 30 minutes, we stopped the movie as it was just lame.  No characters drew me in.  If there were jokes, they weren't funny.  The three actresses were overacting so much that it made them unbearable.  We couldn't make ourselves finish it.  To be honest, I don't know why anyone liked it the first go around.  I shall add it to my list of movies that everyone else seems to love but I hated.

Others on that list include:

O, Brother, Where Art Thou?
Princess Bride
Rocky Horror Picture Show

There are others, but those instantly pop into my brain.

I never actually watched Rocky Horror.  O, Brother, was weird.  It's based on Homer's Odyssey.

You don't like The Princess Bride?  We can't be friends any more.

Quantum Leap - the new series (2022)

I really enjoyed the original series and finally got around to checking this one out. I am up to episode 4 and while it is a bit different, it is still enjoyable.

The original show had Sam and Al and that was it. Even though they never showed any “behind the scenes” type of action/drama, you knew it was there. This series shows all of that.

It used to be simply leaping from one to the next while hoping to get home eventually. It is not so simple anymore.

If that is a prerequisite for friendship, I can live with that.  I can't get that time back from sitting through that film.

Top Gun :Maverick

After the Blu-ray pre-orders went online a few months ago I didn’t hesitate to reserve mine. It came in the mail yesterday so I went ahead and made a trip down the Highway to the Danger zone.

I want to see that modern version of Fahrenheit 451.  I remember the classic movie (from the 60's or maybe 70's I think?)  I also remember reading the Bradbury book many decades ago.

I read the book in High School.  I thought that the 60s movie didn't do the book justice.  I haven't seen the 2018 version.

My son would say the same of both (he just had to read the book, which is way we decided to watch the films). However, I felt the 2018 was far superior to the original.

Watching The Lord of The Rings over a number of days.  Have finally arrived at The Return of The King.  It's amazing how well this trilogy has held up being 20 years old!

Humans - BBC tv series 3 seasons

As bit of a near and not too distant future sci-fi. It makes me think of tv shows/ movies like IRobot and another (can’t remember the name) but had very lifelike robots. As far as tech the only thing futuristic are the androids, or as they are called Synthetics, or simply synths. More of a social/political type show.

How did you watch that?  Did you stream it on a service, or was it DVD/Blu-ray?
