Really? Was it a long drive to the theatre or something? No--we were rather a poor family and my dad was also a cheapskate. We just did not go to the movies. We would rent them quite a bit when we finally got a video store locally. For the most part, we had to wait for movies to come on ABC, NBC, or CBS. Going to the movies was not something we did as a family because it cost money and daddy just wasn't going to spend it on something like this. Maybe it is the fact that we didn't go to the theater back then is why I love going so much now.... _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

Sounds like me, I will drive my family 20 miles to go to the $3 movie theater. Regular ticket prices are like $10 for an adult and $7 for a kid. Just can't afford that for a family of 6. So they get stuck waiting until the films hit the cheap theater (or until it comes out on dvd). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| On DVD:
Twilight (save the brain cells)
The Passengers
Taken (Awesome action flick that also points out the ugly realities of the sex slave industry overseas) _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| In theaters: Star Trek & Wolverine - both were excellent
On DVD: Bucket List- rough language, great story; Dragonheart- cheesy but entertaining; Better off Dead- 80's flick, what else can I say?
On TV: We gave up cable & satellite, so we rent or buy or borrow seasons of various tv series: Dr Who, Lost, Bones, & Criminal minds |

| Journey to the Center of the Earth (the recent one with Brendan Fraser).
It was actually pretty entertaining (assuming you through any hint of reality completely out the window) _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| It was okay, but it just didn't have the strength of the first 2 Mummy movies. He's got to find a role that fits him with that level of story, too. Otherwise, Fraser is rather forgettable. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

I would agree with that, but I don't think it was Fraser that carried the film ("Journey" that is), it was more the special effects. Still I can't believe you didn't mention his two greatest acting accomlishments; "George of the Jungle" and "Dudley Dooright". _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I love "Encino Man"! I need to get that on DVD.
I disagree about this being his best role. I loved him in the first two Mummy movies.
Speaking of Brenden Fraser, I watched a movie of his last night (and a chick flick he wasn't in):

| The last I heard of Pauly was his own self directed movie called "Pauly Shore is dead". Being a big Pauly fan from his light hearted "Spicoli" type days, I was interested until I realized it was rated R for all kinds of junk... Having young 'uns, I set the example and didn't rent it. Would love to see him pair up with Jim Varney and see them do an "Ernest & the Wesal" type film. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

It's about a man who reads stories out loud and can pull people and things from the books. He is on a quest to find a copy of the book "Inkheart" so he can read back in some rather nasty villians, and get his wife out of the book. Whenever something comes out of a book, someone/thing has to go in. So, the main character's wife is imprisoned in "Inkheart". It was a good story, but still not Fraser's best work.

It was a good story, but still not Fraser's best work. Hmm that does sound interesting. Might need to check that one out. - Guilty/Forgiven wrote:
