| Last night I watched Iron Man. Gotta say I was happy that the language was mostly clean, but the whole sex/playboy thing was a little annoying. My boys are both a little peeved at me that I wouldn't let them watch it. Overall I wasn't very impressed with it. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

Overall I wasn't very impressed with it. The "sexy playboy" was straight out of the comics. That's the type of person Tony Stark is. In the next movie, he will be giving in to his alcoholism as well and will even have to put someone else in the suit. So, you get a hero that isn't alays a hero with Iron Man. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

Oh I totally understand wanting to keep it in-step with the comic (if that's what their going for). And I applaud that spirit. But I don't think it should have been sold as a "family movie" when the "hero" tries to bed every woman he talks to and has strippers pole dancing in his private jet. And that wasn't even the main reason I wasn't impressed with it. I found the story line amazingly predictable (and I wasn't even expecting to be surprised). And it seemed a bit too short on action for a superhero flick. I don't think the story was strong enough to keep the average viewer's attention during the long non-action sequences. If I had let my boys watch it they would have been bored to tears for most of the movie. But hey, that's just my opinion. From what I understand a lot of people loved it. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I can't say that I actually saw and commercials that said as such, but I did hear from a few people I know that it was a great film, and my kids would probably love it. I'm gonna have to take thier recommendations with a grain of salt, on both accounts. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| "Hell's Kitchen"
Anybody else watch this crazy show? For some reason it is the only program on TV I make a point to watch on a weekly basis (and I am not a big TV person).
It is something about the way Chef Ramsey goes nuts when these poor overworked and overstressed (and often under qualified) chefs screw up. No, you do not want to see someone getting yelled about but the spirit of the show is all "drama"- so nothing is taken personal.
Also, my "culinary skills" consist of 5 minute rice and milk and cereal so I find it pretty amazing what some of the aspiring chefs can come up with.

I saw snippets of it (before I cancelled by cable) and that head chef guy seemed liked his ego was much too large for any room he was in. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| If it were about weight, it would be more like 297 Pounds! Today, I went and saw: WOLVERINE!!! Next week: STAR TREK! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Actually, I saw Star Trek tonight! They had some early showings in my area, and I took my dad. The very first movie he took me to was Star Trek: The Search For Spock. I was a teenager by that time, and I had only been to the movies once before in my life.

| They did a good job of capturing the essence of the tv show while adding some new elements. If you're expecting William Shatner--don't! The new Kirk is bolder and more daring. The new Spock wrestles even more to keep his human emotions as bay. Uhura gets a lot more speaking parts in this movie than in the character's entire existence!
They did change some of the Star Trek mythology, but they do a good job of explaining that through the movie's time travel, alternate reality story.
It was great to see Lenord Nimoy back as Ambassador Spock, and to do the traditional "Space, the final frontier..." speech at the end of the movie. You have to wait 'til the end to hear the tv show theme music.
Also, the film, at the end of the credits, pays homage to Gene Roddenberyy and Majel Barret Roddenberry. Majel did the voice of the ship's computers on everything but the show "Enterprise". She also played Nurse Chapel on TOS. She was Deanna Troi's mother on a regular basis on TNG.
All in all, it's a new Trek, but with a lot of detail given to the original. It was cool to see Winona Ryder, Eric Bana, and Tyler Perry joining this cast.

| That does sound quite interesting. I may have to go and see it. I never really got into Star Trek, but I did love TNG, and also the idea of Voyager.
