After the very unexpected passing of my husband I try to pick up life again. Some days are rough. Some days are better.
It's strange that I have to do all things in the house. Walking with Matsi and so much more things.

Praying for you sister. I don't want you to be lonely, so try to spend time with your children and grandchildren.

This kind of change is never what we want, but it comes whether we are prepared or not. It is never easy as even the people you would have around you for support, like your kids and grandkids, are also grieving this loss and can't be as strong as you might need them to be.
You have our prayers for sure.

Currently in Knoxville, TN at my brother's house. Our mom passed away (91 years young!) and the service was today. Not a sad time but a time for remembering and celebrating. 91 years is a long time. My dad seems to be doing ok. Heading back to Michigan early in the morning.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but glad to hear your family can be together to celebrate her life. You hardly seem old enough to have parents that old...but my mother is only 19 years older than me so probably has a lot to do with it.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Death is strange that it is such a normal thing in life, but so hard to deal with.
Will be praying for you all.

What gets weird is when you are nearing the age your mom was when she died. I am 52 now and Mama only left this earth at 55. She died from sleep apnea. When tested, she stopped breathing 39 times per hour. I was tested and stopped breathing 57 times per hour. I did get my CPAP machine and use it faithfully whereas Mama died the day she was to get fitted for hers.
It's a weird feeling.
I am sorry about your loss, Mike. She had a long life and was blessed to have you as her son.

Oh gosh, yes I know what you mean. My wife's dad passed when he was 53, and her dad's older brother (her uncle) was 52 when he died. When we both turned 54 at the end of last year it was a little bitter sweet to be older than her father ever was. On the sleep apnea front I'm right there with you. My wife made me do the sleep study test as well and I had somewhere around 45-50 occurrences an hour myself (that was probably about 8 years ago). My doctor said that severe sleep apnea (untreated) can shorten your life up to decades.

Now that I have my CPAP machine, I don't snore anymore. So, now I get awakened from time to time with my wife checking to see if I am dead! I am such a silent sleeper now. So, if I get hot and kick out from under the blanket and then get cold, she starts to freak out!

I had a unique experience today. My little church rents our building to a Hispanic church on days we aren't in the building. After two & a half years of meeting in our building, the Hispanic church asked me to preach at their morning service today. I actually had to wear a suit! Also, I had to preach and have an interpreter for my message. I couldn't understand the songs, but I knew they were worshipping Jesus. It was like being in a foreign country without ever leaving home.
It was surreal and a blessing.

How wonderful is it to have a neighbor who's able to help. I cut in my thumb yesterday. It was bleeding terrible. She helped me.

Why is it that I can learn something new on computer at school or figure tech stuff out on computers and phones, but learning recording software completely makes me want to crawl in a hole and never come out?

What should I be doing to learn this? I watch videos, read blogs, and try just coming up with musical parts hoping it becomes a song. I am not really using a lot of advanced tools in Reaper so that I get the basics down before experimenting with things I have no idea what they do.
