So sorry we couldn't meet up! Maybe another time. It was a pretty busy week for us then the weekend turned hectic as well.
Well at least your weekend didn't turn "heretic"....(which is the way I saw this when I first read it).
No worries, bro.! We will meet up some other time, Mike!
As for the heretic part, I think we all are heretics. Many great Christians of the past were once called heretics. We are in good company.
Nah, the weekend after next turns heretic. It's Reformation Day then

I saw one back in the spring (also at Kohls) that looked like the suit Steve Taylor wore on the I Want to Be a Clone tour.

Then you'll love the metal version of "Macarena"!
Or, how about "Uptown Funk"?

I'm tired of being negative, cynical, bitter, angry and frustrated.... But it seems to be so ingrained* in my DNA that no matter what I do, it won't dissipate. I fully believe that our Father can soften hearts and change attitudes and hearts, but I don't seem to be there yet, I guess. Wonder if a Christian psychologist could help... or maybe just someone who's been on my side of the fence and made it to the other side.

When you catch yourself doing it, stop and ask for forgiveness and strength to change. Soon you'll find yourself catching it earlier and earlier. I wish I could stand before as the poster child of patience and positivity, but alas, I can't. I, too am working on my attitude.
Old habits die hard.

I feel myself being drawn toward cynicism, pessimism, and perfectionism. A deadly combination that assumes the worst because that's what always happens, and sees flaws in everything. It's not the most extreme, but I've watched myself go that way from the better place I was in just a few months ago. Ugh.

That actually worked when I was a young believer, in my early 20s. I now find myself on the "trying/failing cycle" which, after so long, you begin to give up. Only thing is, I don't WANT to give up.

I'm glad you asked
This is my favourite, an amazingly '80s power ballad. Far from the heaviest but I like it. It makes everything alright again.
Kim's also famous for cottage rock, or the perfect soundtrack for weekends by the lakeside or in backyards:
His biggest hit is rocker Go For Soda, with a goofy video, that can still often be heard on rock radio up here:
And then there's rock anthem Rock 'N' Roll Duty:
This is with Max Webster, his band before going solo:
Max Webster recorded a song with Rush:
Further Max Webster weirdness:
If you want more I'll gladly send you more

Me like ! Has that classic 70s, 80s radio rock sound (early Petra, Boston, ELO) That Go for a soda video cracks me up - love the old 80s remote control. I remember those. Battle Scar with Geddy sounds cool ! R&R Duty is my fav of all those. Good stuff. Now I'll need to keep my eyes open for their records.

Not strictly Bible but several studies show it only takes 21 days to form a habit. That means only 21 days to start being negative.
I recently heard a sermon by Greg Boyd where he suggested the first thing you do in the morning is use a notebook to write all the things you’re thankful for. Try it for 21 days and see what happens.

I may very well try something like that. I feel like I'm too far gone, but that's just a "feeling"... so I hope there's still a chance to turn it around.

There's always a chance to turn around. But like Amy Grant sang many years ago "it takes a little time".

Be very careful. Every time I hear that "Go For a Soda" song it is stuck in my head for more than a week.
