Anybody else experiencing a longer than normal wait when you post something and this screen comes up? Used to be fast for me, now this screen sits there for over a minute before returning to the post

Oh gosh no. I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened to me. (like 3 to 10 seconds at most)

I never wait for that screen. I click on "Home" and go back to the main forum.

I used to not have to click anything as that screen would pass so fast. Now it's super slow... weird

Since December 30th, we are camping in our own house. Last Friday our new kitchen was finished. We cooked in the microwave and on an electric plat in the backyard. Now, that wasn't fun.
I'm very happy with the brand new kitchen. And that I can cook again. I love cooking.

Customer service is dead!!!
My AT&T internet is out. I have done all the suggested fix-its recommended on their website. I spent two hours in a chat with a representative today to find I had a voice of getting someone out on Tuesday with me taking a day off from work or wait until Saturday. By then, my he internet will be down for TEN DAYS!!! They used to do late appointments, but not anymore.
Besides taking the day off from work, if the rep has to come inside, there will be a $99 fee if no parts or equipment is needed. We go through this every three to five years, and they ALWAYS have to have some sort of equipment.
I am now looking into dumping my service. I am not working with someone who does not value their customers.

I have fixed my home internet woes. I am dumping AT&T for a local company that I can call anytime. The service is a wireless router that they provide. I can travel and take it anywhere if I so choose. It will cost a little more, but the customer service of this company will be well worth the investment.

That sounds better.
I had lost my internet connection a few months ago and called my service right away (Zona). They said they had someone in our general area and he would come by within the hour. He arrived about 25 minutes later and noticed that for some reason we had just tripped the breaker supplying the electricity to the room our modem was in (I felt dumb for not checking that myself). He reset the breaker and hung around for a few minutes to make sure the modem reconnected. No charge and a cheerful attitude from the tech. Now that's what I consider good service.

Strange, I know Hardkore was having trouble connecting earlier today. But he is back in now. Weird gremlin issues.

A recent picture of the band Modern English (the ones that did the iconic 80s song "I Melt with You"). The guitarist looks so out of place in this group...

Oh my, I guess he wanted to make sure that he couldn't "sell-out" and get a normal job.

The kitchen is ready. The camping in our own house is finally over.
The kitchen looks so beautiful. We only have to wait for the cook plate, a steam oven/oven and a combi micro wave. We have no diea when this will be delivered. Problems with the chips that keep his stuff working.

Playing around with ideas for a couple projects...
For the past several months I've been playing around a bit with WordPress with the idea of approaching the host of local Christian rock/metal radio show Silent Witness Radio about replacing the show's highly outdated website (and taking over hosting duties as well - I have a VPS with plenty of space and bandwidth so if I'm going to be managing the site I might as well offer to host it for free as well).
I'm also debating trying to start another forum (at least once I get done with planned changes to christianphotographers.com). I've noticed that, outside of reddit and a couple of sections of general Christian forums, there aren't any places for general Christian music discussion anymore. CMCentral died 11 or 12 years ago (for those who remember that site). I did find a couple of Facebook groups but one is basically locked down to where you can't create new posts (possibly abandoned by the admins?) and the other isn't very active. Beyond that there are the assorted genre/time-period specific groups (Jesus Music, '80s, '90s, metal, rock, etc.). Trying to decide how I could incorporate news/information from various sites with a forum to keep people interested enough to join.

I skipped the Super Bowl. First one ever. Feels great. Sleep is much more important at my age.
Moved down here to Missouri precisely 24 years ago today. Much more sedate mode of existence and a better bastion of freedom than my former stomping grounds.

I skipped it as well mainly because I care nothing about either team. I feel there were better teams but I was hoping Cincy would pull out a win. Glad I went to bed early instead.

I only watched the Super Bowl this year because my sister-in-law had a get-together. Sadly my wife and I were the only ones to show up, but it was still kind of fun. I can't believe everyone isn't talking about why the Bengals lost though. They had to surrender a touchdown because an un-uniformed player from their team ran out in the end-zone to celebrate with the team. That little stunt cost them the points for the touchdown (which would have given them the win ultimately....all things considered). The half-time show was not entertaining, but I'm not a rap/hip-hop fan, and the commercials were less than stellar. The snacks were good though.

Super Bowl? Is that some sort of new jumbo sized toilet?
I don't care for football. I have heard very few good things about the halftime show. I have heard nothing about good commercials this year, either. So, I am glad that I did my usual thing of sitting it out and ignoring the game.

Didn't know this... So a player who wasn't dressed out and did not play cost them the game. Wow. I bet a lot of teammates are mad! I know I would be. I enjoyed the season but just don't care for those 2 teams.
Here is probably what should have happened: Cincy scores TD. Non-playing player runs on the field. Flag thrown, 15 yard penalty assessed on kick off. No need to take away the TD. Bad call on the refs and I didn't even see it!

I heard about the Bengals being penalized for that but didn't see it or know that they got a TD taken away. It was a good game though and quite impressive considering how badly the Bengals did last season.

I did finally find an article on it and for some reason I was not paying close enough attention to the game because he didn't cost them a TD. It looked more like they were just celebrating an interception, and he ended up costing them 15 yards. I guess that's what happens when you don't care enough about either team to pay attention to what exactly is going on.
