I'm slowly coming to the realization that the cure may be as bad or worse then the disease, I think the jury is still out on how bad the disease will be here but we have lost the economy. I agree with Chris, we should have followed S.Korea's example but they were set up after the last couple virus outbreaks and we weren't and now, with so much political infighting, things move at a snail's pace.

Our church is livestreaming today as are many others. I know you had some irate members but did they settle down?

4 spring breakers in Florida from University Of Tampa have now tested positive. I'm sorry but they were IDIOTS to not cancel their plans! There will probably be many more.

Once they gave the order in Nashville to shelter in for two weeks, they settled down. I did the live stream, and we had quite a few watchers. Maybe that will help us once we are through this.
However, I can see all the live streams hurting the church after this as well. For nominal Christians, the draw to just watch the service at home rather than going to engage will entice some to stay away once we kick the virus.
For now, the church is going to pay me week by week depending on what comes in. If people are faithful and keep sending their donations to the church, we will be fine. If they don't, then I may not get paid. That is the hard part of pastoring such a tiny church.

What do you do when you are jonesing for Starbucks but really aren't supposed to get out? Open the packs of hot chocolate that your special needs kids gave you for Christmas and heat some water on the stove. Ahhhh.....that's better!

Before next week's service post the link for live stream here so we can watch. Would be cool.

We actually had a boost in "attendance" with the livestream.....we typically have a lot of people that watch it anyway, from all over the world in fact, but with no open building to go to it was a whole lot.

I was just reading an article saying that we could be in this "lockdown" mode until June. I don't think that the American economy can hold out that long. I know people that are living paycheck to paycheck will be hurting very badly without being able to go to their jobs. I am on the fence about whether we should be doing this or following the S. Korean model of everyone going about their lives and only isolating the people most at risk or showing symptoms. I believe that if this government intervention goes too long that we will never get our freedoms back. Also, I believe that many people will begin to get sick and maybe even starve if we go too long away from our jobs resulting in a much higher loss of life. Where is the balance, folks?

It's funny cuz people are already going nuts having to stay home all the time, trying to figure out what to do and getting cabin fever... myself, I've been home for over 6 years now . Kinda what it's like being on disability.. or perhaps being retired. As a fellow introvert I've grown to like being a shut in

I've got experience working from home after my accident a couple of years ago so it shouldn't be too hard for me. At least I'm not in a wheelchair like that time

Well, another month has been added to my unfortunate incarceration. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has asked all school systems to continue to stay closed until Friday, April 24.
If they feel it is necessary, I get it. However, I think just for the sanity of the people (mine included) to not tell them but week by week that they have nothing to do. As an aide, I don't get to interact with my students and have no lesson plans to send out to the kids at home. With the church closed, I feel about as usless as a screen door on a submarine.

Since yesterday my country is in a kind of lock out due the corona. The most bad thing is, I can't go to the library to pick up new book.s.
I make twice a day a walk with Matsi. Yep, in this time it's cool to have a dog.

Same here. Although I always wash when I use the restroom and several times while I'm cooking (so probably about 15 times a day)...now i'm probably up over 20 times a day. Been trying to use some of my wife's body butter to keep my skin from cracking.

Never having listened to a Rich Mullins album ever, I didn't get the reference. I simply used the phrase because it is an old southern euphemism. So, as far as the reference to the song was concerned, I was as lost as last year's easter egg. LOL
