Random Ramblings

Got more snow up here . . . about 3 inches or so.  It makes for an interesting run in the mornings 

While I would still rather have my own house than rent, being a homeowner is no fun right now.  We had to have the central heat & air system replaced.  Then, we had a flooded basement.  I am also dealing with having to have my old cast iron pipes replaced this weekend.  This summer, I need to have the bathroom redone.

Man, I am just loving being a homeowner.

Bad few days for me as well. More rain, more leaks. I have leaks now that didn't happen during the hurricane! They need to get this fixed and put the tarps back where they were or put the new shingles on pronto!

edit: they came back and put up new tarps, original plans were to reroof the house Fri, Sat and Sun. But rain all three days so they will be back Tues. The main guy put a nail thru his kneecap when he was up there Friday. It figures - no rain in 2 months and when it finally rains it is on all 3 days scheduled to reroof my house!

You guys are making me glad I've never been able to afford a house. Hope things get worked out for both of you.

Installed a Hipshot Tuner on my bass today:

I wonder if that would work on a low B string on my 5 and 6 string basses.  You could have just gotten one of those.  What does this do? Drop you from E to D?

I have it set to drop from E to D but it can go as low as C.

Drop D is one of my favorite ways to groove.

We did the song You Came (Lazarus) for the first time Sunday.  We did it in D.  So I dropped it.

Still no progress on my roof. Plans were to start last Friday, Sat and Sunday and it rained all 3 days. Then one of the guys got a nail thru his kneecap so plans are to start tomorrow. Once this is complete I can put this mess behind me.

Progress one step at a time! Roofers worked until 7pm last night in the dark getting half the roof off and synthetic "paper" down (which replaces the old felt paper roofers used to put under shingles). He said it took them longer than they expected to remove the old felt paper because I had 4 layers underneath my old shingles and more paper means more nails to remove. Only two guys working instead of a whole crew. The last roof I had put on there were about 20 guys there doing it. This may take them another 2 or 3 days to complete and then the fascia and soffit need another day or so to be replaced.

I am currently working on a new idea for a new Pastor Chris video.  Stay tuned!

After working on my outline for my video, I came home to work on fixing a downspout on the house.  The batteries on my drill were down, so that made the job harder.  I was having to stand in slippery mud which also made the job harder.  My cheap self tapping sheet metal screws didn't work well either making every connection harder.  Then, my A.D.D. and impatience kidded in and I started getting madder and madder and madder!!!!  I hate doing home repairs as NOTHING seems to ever be easy for me!!!!!

Imagine how much damage you and I could do on a home! I am the same way! We need to start our own demolition business. I bet we could take out a house in 30 minutes or less trying to fix it up.

You laugh, but I seriously considered that at one time.  Imagine getting paid to break & destroy stuff!  Wouldn't that be awesome!!!

Demolition is fun.  Cleanup sucks.

It's a song about the forked tongue of Satan who tempts and then accuses. Whether you're a producer or a consumer or both, music is SUCH a gift. A couple days ago a friend of mine set up a songwriting forum (which is awesome BTW. I'm SO proud of him). it just got me thinking about how many really neat people move in and around music. You guys are great. Thank you Chris for all that you do.
