Talking of that...

My son said to me today, "Dad, we should get a dog called "four miles", that way we can say we walk four miles every day."

I finished my third and final one today (at least for this round, who knows what'll happen next).  It went reasonably well I think, though I'm becoming fairly torn about the job...  It'd allow me to continue working from home, provide good benefits, and I think the pay will be pretty good.  But the specific role isn't something I'm particularly excited for and it'd require up to 30% travel.  :/

HELP ME ! I'm addicted to FRANKENBERRY !!!

Every year we buy a couple boxes, enjoy them, then think nothing more of them. This year for some reason I decided to get a box for snacking right out of the box (I can't stand cereal in milk of any kind)... I'm on my 4th box already  Shocked
SO not good for me, too much sugar. But oh man, I think they put cocaine in them this year cuz I cannot quit ! Haha !

Quite frankly I'm surprised it's still legal to sell that in your state. (I didn't know anyone sold it anywhere).
I was never a fan of Frakenberry as I can't stand artificial strawberry flavoring.  I was a big fan of Boo Berry cereal back in the day though.

I can't tell if they got the actual Peter Lorre to do his voice for this commercial or a sound-a-like. (Just looked it up, Lorre died in 1964 so this would have to be an imitator).

Oh man! I haven't seen that stuff since I was a kid. They don't sell it here, but when I was a kid, I had it when I visited my Auntie in Minnesota. There was an amusement park deal where if you had x-number of box tops, you'd get one a free entry. My cousins and I ate that stuff everyday for a week. It started out as good fun, but by week's end we were begging for Shredded Wheat.

I think they bring Frankenberry and Count Chocula back for Halloween every year.  I was a HUGE Frankenberry fan when I was a kid.  Wasn't there also a Fruity Pebbles type cereal that was Werewolf themed?

One or two promising leads, I guess. One would be in my hometown, which is ideal on many fronts. Another is with the Ministry of Transportation, which while not my absolute dream job is very close to what I want to do Very Happy

No.  They are totally different!  lol!

Everything governmental in the novel "1984" was the Ministry of this or the Ministry of that.

In all fairness, a "ministry" is a service.  So the Ministry of Transportation is the Transportation Service.

Ever feel like some cosmic curtain is going to be pulled back any minute and God is gonna say, "Just kidding, this isn't how your health and circumstances are meant to be", then "ZAP" everything in your life the way you actually imagined it would be as well as all those things you worked for ?

for your sake, Jim, I wish that was the way things work.  I wish I could take your pain even if only for a day.

In my neck of the woods, it is hard to believe that exactly two weeks ago we were still hitting days with 90 degree temps and this morning I am having to defrost my windows because it is only 32 outside!  We've had all four seasons in two weeks!  If it would spit some snow flurries, I'd feel like we hit winter!!!

Oh, well, I avoided wearing a jacket this long!  Praise the Lord that the weather stayed so warm for so long!!!

Orwell was British, and all their stuff is "Ministry" and their government people are "ministers".  Makes more sense than "secretary".
