I didn't realize that one of your boys was old enough to move out. Wow, they grow up so fast!

My boy lives in Amsterdam for one year now, he's going to college there and comes home in the weekends and in breaks from school.
He's so attentive to bring every week a nice surprice for me ....

I had a nice two week break from school, but now I am back to subbing. I am filling in for a music teacher all week long. Also, I am getting my youth group ready to do a weekend retreat this weekend. I'll be doing some of the games and preaching, too.

I try to get used to be home again.

Terrible's owns a bunch of casinos. We stayed at "Primm Valley" and saw the Four Tops at "Buffalo Bill's". They were pretty cool - very classy !
Lisa and I each put a 20 in the one-armed bandits and came home 60 bucks ahead. First time ever.
I'm still trying to hack the cigarrette smoke outta my lungs... I swear you lose a year off your life for every hour you sit in a casino sucking in 2nd hand smoke.

Sounds like a couple of casinos in our are (Emerald Queen Casinos) they get lots of old nostalgia rock/pop/ and r&b bands from the 60's 70's and 80's. I think Joan Jett is going to be there in a few weeks.

Other than the second-hand smoke it sounds like fun.

Tomorrow the fam is heading to the Pacific Science Center to see the Star Wars exhibit. Really looking forward to doing something together as a family.

I had some real "fun" today at the local high school. We had some heavy storms come through with tornado warnings. I don't know if any funnels touched down or not. But, about 2:30 we went into lockdown mode when the city alarms went off. We stayed in that mode for about an hour--holding kids even after their normal departure time. They weren't too happy about it, and some of them were just downright disrespectful to me and their regular teachers as well. What they don't realize is that we are responsible for their safety and have the right to hold them after school. We could have been saving their lives had this produced an actual funnel anywhere near the school or their homes. Bunch of ingrates!

Rest assured… someday, your patience will be rewarded, and their impatience shall be reprimanded… if someday a funnel touches down, and they see the destruction, it will be a moment of "wow".

Oh, and we have no tornadoes (virtually none) up here. Thunderstorms, definitely, but no tornadoes.

Chris, something happened in church and it's so unfair.
What happened discouraged me and made me sad that even God's children react on a way of this.
I can't share it here.

Hope the weather is better today and you don't get tornado's.
