While some businesses are holding out, our mask mandates are gone and events are returning to full capacity. To get people back to work, we are stopping the additional federal unemployment. It is time to get back to normal if at all possible.

I expect the USA will see another surge start within a couple weeks with all the relaxed protocols. Having a fair number of people vaccinated isn't the golden bullet many seem to think. I'm certainly not a virologist (did NOT stay at a Holiday Inn Express either), but there have already been a few variants of concern that aren't as affected by at least some of the vaccines so it would not surprise me if it mutates enough that this will become like the flu where they target the variants most likely to occur each year.

They will use the variants for more lockdowns then they will use lockdowns to solve climate change and then we will be a police state.

I wouldn't have thought Newsweek was conservative but it put a positive spin on the facts. TX has had a few days were they reported 0, and is still trending down like most of the US but 7-day moving avg is still over 40. Still good news though.

I got my second Pfizer shot on Tuesday afternoon. Sometime In the middle of that night I felt like I had been hit by a truck. All day Wednesday I had horrible body aches and a slight fever with very little energy (like a bad case of the flu without any sinus/throat issues). Did nothing but lay around and feel sorry for myself. Today (Thursday) I'm feeling quite a bit better. No real pain or headaches to speak of, but I do feel a little weak. Now I'm wondering if we are just going to have to get a single shot each year (like a typical flu shot) or if we are going to have to go through this double shot nonsense every 6 months. I've had quite a few immunizations myself (mostly because of being in the military) but I've never had a one wipe me out for a whole day like that. (And I do mean a lot, MMRB, Tetanus, Typhoid, Plague I, II, & III, Yellow Fever, Hep A, Influenza.... and probably some I'm forgetting)

Oh man, that would have been a good idea especially if we had taken our second dose on the same day. But because of her work schedule she took her shot two days after mine.

My roommate bro was diagnosed with Covid today, which automatically places me in quarantine. Yay.

One of the guys in my band came down with it. We had practice one night and played at a blues jam the next. Since I took the shot, I don't have to quarantine. Unless I showed symptoms, I wasn't going to anyway.

So far, I'm asymptomatic. Still not going to compromise my mRNA regardless. My 82-year-old dad got the jab. He's also under quarantine.

Walmart is Nazivile, so far from how their founder's vision. No offense but I refuse to shop there. You'll be fine and if you do get it, your immunity will be better than the experimental jab.

The one here in town completely sucks when it comes to customer service. It seems a lot of the ones in big cities are the same. There's a much better one in a small country town about 20 miles west of me. Much more courteous and friendly.
Same can also be said of Dollar General, where I work. My store is in another small town about 15 northwest.

Man, we hit the Dollah G all the time! If you just want one or two items, I would rather drive the .3 of a mile to get it from them than drive 12 to the closest Walmart. Depending on how I go to get there, I could check out two other DGs on the way if I could not find what I wanted. Here, there is literally a DG every 6-8 miles.
The closest big town to me has one Walmart. It isn't the best, but you don't have to be when you are the only one around. We shop there frequently, but there aren't a lot of other choices. I don't care for Kroger or Publix due to higher prices on groceries, and we have no other department type stores. I would have to drive 20 miles to get to other options.
I love small town living!

Still doing it here. If you come in contact with someone you're out 10 working days (but with pay). No one out at the moment and masks are still required as are temperature checks even if you have been vaccinated.
At this point I'm used to it. But masks have been a thing anyway, at least in the lab where I work it's just part of the daily routine

We don't even have to wear a mask in Costco any longer.

I'm glad to hear to didn't get really sick. It seems like almost everyone is at least tired after their second shot.

Here in our part of Arizona you don't need to wear a mask in most places if you have been fully vaccinated. The people who don't want to get vaccinated don't want to wear masks either, so pretty much nobody but business employees seem to be wearing masks anymore.
