Went to the doctors office today for my yearly physical and had to wear a mask while inside. It felt weird wearing it again. But such is life.

Laryngitis is starting to go buh-bye. All my vitality and energy have returned with a vengeance. The same goes for my appetite.

While my appetite has returned with a vengeance, my diet has substantially changed for the better. I limit myself to one 16.9 oz. Dr Pepper daily. I allow myself one Starbucks iced coffee. At most, I'll drink one Gatorade. Milk for my cereal and one glass for supper. Water has become my mainstay. I have not eaten out in over a month. My waist has shrunk to 37. I estimate I have possibly lost 25 pounds since late June.

This is perhaps the strangest thing I've ever said, but IMO Covid might have been one of the best things to happen to me. I have never been this close to the Lord before, even after my tumultuous April 2014, when my life basically fell apart and God stepped in to reassemble the pieces of my shattered life. I have this appreciation for every seemingly insignificant thing; for every person I encounter, a restored, genuine warmth that I sadly lacked; for every thunderstorm gully-washer that hinders, and later reveals itself to have actually been the catalyst toward personal and spiritual victory; and for removing rationalizations and excuses from my life that hindered my complete and utter obedience to the will of Christ. (Confession is so, so good for the soul!) Plus it seems as though some bills that are coming due will be much lesser than I'd imagined. I'm realizing the veracity of Romans 8:28-29 in a newer, holy light. In the words of the late Carman, "Let's give the Lord a praise offering, yo!"

More people out at work. I have 4 bosses above me. ALL of them are out. One with a very serious case. My immediate supervisor called me Sat to say he tested positive but since he was vaccinated it is very mild. Mild enough for him to aggravate me 100 times a day on the phone. But the other 3 have it pretty bad.
What really needs to be done is prayer. A prayer to God that this thing will go away. My family prayed for a vaccine. We got it, then people refuse it (which is fine I don't care either way). The next step is to pray for it to just fade away.

We need to pray that it goes away. We also need to pray that God will expose the truth behind the virus and those who have lied to us whether it be China and our own government or the many naysayers. We deserve to know the truth. We need to pray that this would draw our nation and the nations of the world together instead of helping us divide more.

It's a virus, they don't go away, they morph and change and keep on usually weaker but they say the Delta is stronger. Why? That's not natural. Also, other countries are starting to report that a high percentage of vaccinated people are getting the Delta variant so how long until they can't hide it in the U.S.?

Smallpox is caused by a virus. The CDC has considered it eradicated. However, that is only because enough people were vaccinated against it that the virus was unable to successfully spread between humans. For some reason I don't see that happening with Covid in the U.S., unless it becomes much more deadly. Given that it is getting stronger that seems like something that might happen.

I heard the "delta variant" was actually significantly less deadly/dangerous than the original; is that not true? (I haven't looked into it at all - honest question!)

No, Kerrick...the DV is what I had. It about killed me (or pushed me to the edge). The previous incarnation is what my brother had when he passed it to me (two days' straight vomiting, run-down feeling, etc.)

We're going on a flight to Lisa's family in North Carolina (from California) next week, and they require masks the entire trip as well as in the airports. Major bummer

The whole DV variant being stronger shouldn't happen, most variants get weaker down the line, unless this isn't a "natural' bug. I know about smallpox so I guess I should've clarified. These corona type viruses aren't eradicated as they always morph, it's why they have a new flu shot every year. I also wonder how they're even testing for the DV since no specific test has been developed for it?

I was wondering how they decided it was a DV as well. I don't trust the data we get in the news, especially if it came from our government.

I don't trust anything that comes thru Farce-i at all. They have been shows to have been paying for this type f research. They were ordered by Obama to stop, but Farce-i continued to fund it as per his own boss's statements. He is pushing a vaccine that is starting to show that you may die quicker with the D variant.
This man should be public enemy number one with Gates and Zuckerberg not far behind.

Was just informed that at work that not only have the Covid rules here grown more stringent, but management will be spying on all of us associates via the cameras to ensure that we're complying with the directives of the Communist Dictator Cabal and Napoleonic Complex Fauxi.

Walmart and Krogers are going back to making associates wear masks. Krogers will require shoppers to do so as well. Walmart is bringing back their front door "ambassadors" to urge people to mask up.
Disneyworld is requiring everyone to mask up again. All associates are being required to get the Fauci Ouchie.
It is just a matter of time until it is made into a federal law requiring everyone to get it. If we commoners resist, then they will shut us down again.

Already Walmart upper management is being required to get the vaccine by October 4. It won't be much longer afterwards IMO that the rank-and-file will be forced to comply. As things stand, I have to wait for October 7 to get mine.

My wife (the hospital employee) just told me that they are going to require all the hospital employees to get the shot. My wife said that half of the staff doesn't have the vaccination. She has talked to a few of her unvaccinated coworkers (some of them nurses) who aren't even sure they are going to get the jab.
Really interesting because if you are a nurse and refuse to get the shot, I don't see how you could stay in that career field especially since hospitals and clinics everywhere will likely be requiring it.

In the UK 57% have been fully vaccinated. I guess about 70% have had at least one shot.

This is a really interesting article that shed some light on things I wasn't aware of (namely regarding details about the vaccine manufacturers). It's an easy read and to-the-point, though very well-researched and quite thorough.
