Sounds like my IRS bill this year!
Ok, it wasn't that extreme, but Uncle Sam DID hit me up for a couple extra bucks, and the bill is a little steep!

Went to a maple syrup shack today. It included taffy, which is essentially very concentrated maple syrup poured onto snow, then gathered up with a stick and eaten. Only in Canada

So we finally cut the cable...we get tv over the air like the old days and we have netflix and amazon prime and I own about 200 dvd's....we have plenty to watch..getting rid of cable was a very good decision

^^ We have not completely eliminated cable, but we did drop to the "limited basic" plan, meaning we get the "local" channels and a few others (CNN, CSPAN, etc.) ... a total of 18 channels I think. We also have Netflix (watch a LOT of shows there) and Amazon Prime (very disappointed with them lately; they don't update much), and we buy a lot of VHS tapes from the local thrift stores. With prices from 25 cents to a dollar, it's cheaper than renting a DVD!

We dropped cable about 5 years ago. We have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. I still wish there was some way to watch baseball and football though.

if we lived in a larger city I would drop the "limited basic" in a heart beat. However, we are in the middle of of the state (AKA the middle of nowhere) and the two larger cities in the east and west sides of the state pump out the channels. There are a couple of relays here and there, but not enough to pick anything up without a gigantic antenna on the roof. Of course, that was all before the "go digital, ditch analog" business a couple of years ago; I honestly don't know what we would get "over the air" now.

We never had satellite, let alone cable. I don't think my rural area has cable, and I know we could get satellite, but there's just about nothing worth watching. I've never been a TV/movie fan in any case.

We have satellite as the only local cable company here just sucks. The lines are old, so the tv blinked out for sometimes days when it would rain hard.
I don't know why I keep paying for satellite as I just don't watch it. I love a good movie, but I like to see what I want to see. Discovering new films via cable or satellite has never really been a big thing for me.

we found a good tax accountant..we dont have to pay anything to the IRS and he even legally got me out of the fine for not having insurance... seems like the more a guy has the less he has to pay

It's finally getting warm. I'm ready for summer. I love hearing the birds again. I don't like the flies, though. That's the thing I don't like about warm weather.

I made a big thorn crown. And a bouquet for under the big cross in the church. A large black cloth is torn veil. Tomorrow I'll make a waterfall from white flowers hanging on the cross. That's for Easter. the white flowers is a symbol for the Resurrection. The green leaves show us the eternal life Jesus has given us.

Melt is progressing. Some dirt roads are turning to mud at home. I am home. I have access to a car. Now I need a friend with scrap cars and a huge property
