I usually don't find much in our thrift stores, and I didn't even go today, but my daughter did and sent me a text with a picture asking "yes or no." I said, "sure, it's only $.75", even though I know nothing about the artist! Turns out this is a rare find, something from the seventies (and definitely not hard rock, despite the title! LOL). Amazon has three of them (via other sellers), one for $30 and the other to for over $60!
Sadly, I'm not too impressed with it. But maybe it'll grow on me...no, probably not.
The music is great ... if it wasn't for the guy singing (if you can call that singing) and the really bad lyrics (trying to cram too many words into a single chorus, etc.) ...
My kid found this one as well, which I can't find any information about on the Internet (although the artists are still together and have a FB page), but it is 100% better than the one above. It's a bit like country-pop, but the guy sings on tune and the production is top notch, with good drum work, strong bass, and adequate guitar work. There is nothing to indicate any faith in the lyrics that I can see, but that's not problem. It's a bit mellow, but definitely a keeper.

I played the snot out of Crises when I was young. My dad had a vinyl-to-tape rip of the American edition (which had Crises on Side 2 and added Mistake as the first track on Side 1), and I loved it. Still do.

BearDad that Agape is an amazing find !! Way to go on that one bro ! I'm a huge classic-Jesus-Music fan, and that one is really rare ! I've been trying to find their stuff for a long time now, and you're right, they're quite EXPENSIVE ! So to score it for less than a buck is outrageously cool ! Yes, I am super jealous
But seriously, if I ever have anything on my trade list you want, lemme know

Impellitteri - Venom
Am I the only one that is tempted to double up more of the vowels in that name? Half the time I find myself starting to type Imppellitterri.

Assuming you meant consonants, no you aren't the only one. Now, if you meant vowels ...

Picked these up at a Salvation Army thrift store today. The tape was $.69, not $6, and even though the CDs all say $.99 the lady grudgingly agreed to sell them to me for $.50 each after I explained that Corpus Christi, although unopened, is a "CD single" (only two songs) and the other two are very scratched and may not play. I've never heard Clash of Symbols, but this site says they are a hard rock band formed by former CCM singer Mike Stand. I've never heard this particular Stavesacre either, but hey ... it's Stavesacre, so how can it be bad?
Edit: all the CDs ripped OK. I'll know later how the digitals sound. I'm at my folks' house right now and not in a position to sample these.
Edit (4/26): Stavesacre plays just fine. I'll be testing Clash of Symbols next.

My dad gave me all his old vinyl this weekend. Definitely no metal, hard rock, or even rock, just lots of southern gospel, old style country, classical, and CCM. Still a fun haul; it'll be fun to listen to what I grew up with every once in a while.
