- Ok I'm a little "apprehensive" about emusic's new annoucement about switching to a "price" as opposed to a "credit" system.
I'll be fine if the majority of stuff I am interested in still equates to what I am getting now, but If I'm left with 49cents at the end of every month because of variable song costs I'm not going to be happy. This could well be the downfall of eMusic. The draw now is getting great music at much reduced rates. If there stuff starts costing the same, then why not just do iTunes or buy directly from Cd Baby? _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| The new announcement of eMusic did'nt make me very happy.
I was searching for Starfield on eMusic.
Suggest this to eMusic. I wish there were more Christian bands to download on eMusic. By the way I downloaded Stevie and the Saints.

| I found their pricing plan: - Quote :
The new pricing in detail Our commitment to offer a consistent savings
With the new pricing system, you will see a wider range of prices, with some tracks costing more and some less than the effective price you pay today. Over all however, eMusic members will consistently be able to enjoy savings of 20% - 50% compared to iTunes a la carte prices. Album prices
With your eMusic membership, you’ll get the biggest savings on albums released a year or more ago. Generally, albums released more than 12 months ago will be available at a 35% savings compared to iTunes a la carte prices. More recent releases will be priced 25% less than iTunes a la carte prices. For example: an album that sells at retail for $9.99 will sell for $7.49 on eMusic. Track prices
Most of the single tracks in our current catalog will be available to members at $.49 which is generally 50% less than iTunes a la carte prices. The price of more popular individual tracks in our current catalog could be $0.69 or $0.79. Single tracks released within the last 12 months will be available for either $0.79 or $.89.
You’re probably curious what the prices will be for specific titles in our current and future catalog. Prices offered to members will largely be driven by release date and label requirements. All of that is still being determined and we won’t know specifics until we get closer to the launch date. As soon as we know more, we’ll share the details. Basically it means that if it's already in the system, we get it for the price we currently have. But, if it's new, you will get less songs for the same money. Not cool at all.

| No not cool.
I hope they continue to have their album "deals". They have several albums that are more than 12 tracks (13, 14, ....17 etc.) and you can get many of them for just 12 credits. If they continue to do that with the majority of the indie releases that will be cool with me. If they jump up to 79 cents a track for the major-label releases I don't think it will bother me too much as they are at least 99cents most everywhere else, and the majority of the stuff I buy isn't major label anyway.

| It looks like some of those Intense Record albums are starting to hit e-music. Be warned that these are not the same as the re-mastered cds that are being released by Divine Metal Distro. I believe they are just rips of the original album (with no remastering).
The Altar Boys have a couple new albums. http://www.emusic.com/artist/Altar-Boys-MP3-Download/11599744.html
Deliverance's first two albums are now there as well http://www.emusic.com/album/Deliverance-Weapons-Of-Our-Warfare-MP3-Download/12190021.html http://www.emusic.com/album/Deliverance-Deliverance-MP3-Download/12189943.html
Ken Tamplin's first solo album is there. http://www.emusic.com/album/Ken-Tamplin-An-Axe-To-Grind-MP3-Download/12189960.html
And there is a Poor Old Lu album that was recently added http://www.emusic.com/album/Poor-Old-Lu-In-Their-Final-Performance-MP3-Download/12190107.html

| Emusic has posted several more titles from the Frontline/Intense catalog and also several Christian artists from Alarma, KMG, and Syntax Distribution.
There are way too many to list all the albums (or give links) so I will just list the artists I found. Keep in mind I am probably missing some of the CCM/pop artists as I am not to terribly familiar with the 80’s and early 90’s Christian CCM & pop artists…..so there is likely more.

| I believe there is only one Rivera/Bomma album at emusic. I did notice that some albums from emusic can only be downloaded by customers outside the U.S. For instance I believe you got the new Disciple "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" from emusic, but you can't get it from emusic here in the states. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | How weird. I have downloaded "Horseshoes & Handgrenades" some weeks ago on eMusic. Maybe it's that to stimulate the sell of the CD in the US? Maybe you can download CDs we can't download in Europe?
I have gotten a new e-mail of eMusic about the announcements of some weeks ago.
Downloading CDs is a cool way to listen to the new music after you are ready with downloading. What I miss with downloaded CDs is the fun to looking forward before you have gotten your new CD. And to read the CD cover. Yep, I love to read the lyrics. That's impossible to do with downloaded CDs.

Well a lot of the lyrics you can find on the internet. But you are right you can't read any of the other liner notes. The nice thing about downloads is that you don't have to wait for your cd to come in the mail! _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

Emusic shows the album cover and lists all the tracks for that album "Real Life", but it has this message. - Quote :
Album Unavailable for Download
We’re sorry. This album is unavailable for download in your country (United States) at this time. Some albums are available in slightly different versions, as result of varying licensing agreements. Some albums are licensed in one country but not at all in another. That’s frustrating, we know, but we are continuously working to bring every title to members in all countries. Follow this Real Life search link to see a search results page for this album. If a version for your country is available it’ll be shown there. Follow the link to that album and you will be able to download it from the album page.
Looks like another album you can get in Europe from emusic but not here in the U.S. (at least not yet). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

Title: In Your Face Year: 1989 Label: Frontline Records
I think they have in listed as 2010 because that is when Syntax distribution got the rights to sell the mp3s. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Emusic has switched over to their new "dollar amount" as opposed to credits. It looks like only a few of the things I am interested in have gone up (but just a little). Still overall cheaper than Amazon or I-tunes. They have added over 20,000 albums in the last two days........almost all of it secular stuff. I did find some good Christian music though. Here is a list of the newly added stuff I noticed.
Anberlin (two albums IIRC) Fireflight - For those Who Wait Daughtry (a few albums) Flyleaf - s/t album Hoi Polloi - Spin Me Michael W Smith (a few albums) Nouveaux - Beginnings Pillar - Fireproof Third Day - Move & also Live Revelation Three Crosses - several albums _________________ "I used to be indecisive..........
