Yes but causing a buzz to whom? I seriously doubt the secular metal community will be phased at all by this. It's only within the Christian scene where anyone is talking about it. I'm curious what their intent is/was...

I'm curious what their intent is/was... Exactly. Rather than causing a buzz it's causing a division with both extremes telling the other they are going to Hell.

| I received the same notification this morning, Mike. Here's to hoping that I like it more than I did the "Chicken In The Crust" song! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Walmart has announced they will not be carrying this release. No surpise because I haven't been able to find any new releases there any way. | |

I'm not sure I even understand what the imagery is supposed to be saying, here, to comment on it. - MikeInFla wrote:

Yeah, Walmart - actually most b&m stores lately - pretty much stink as far as music selection. Being forced to go online to find anything.

| Listening to the newly released Stryper record. First impression? Disappointment.
First, the songwriting is lacking. It sounds like they're out of ideas.
Second, I really don't like the title or the title track. I just can't enjoy a guy singing "God d*mn..." Yes, I know what it's about and what he's trying to do, but I just cringe every time I hear him sing those two words together.
I have to give it some time and repeated listens, but that's my first impression.

| I may buy it, but I haven't decided yet. The songs do sound good, I just miss the higher register vocals and the layered harmonies. But it does sound as good as the last two, so I may buy it...

| My CD should come in the mail today. So, I will reserve my opinion until I have heard it.

Mine too. Thought it might arrive yesterday but it didn't. So far I like all the songs I have heard. Even the first one while it isn't bad, it's just OK. I prefer that over a ballad anyway. Will try to listen over the weekend.

| I received the CD and vinyl yesterday. I like it so far. I have no qualms about the title. The chorus on the first track "Take It To The Cross" sounds a bit like an early Bride chorus including how MS delivers it. | |

| I like the new record but don't love it. For me, they have mixed this too loud especially in the bass area. It overshadows the guitars. With this style of metal, I want to hear the guitars! The mix is muddy and gives ear fatigue.

| I like the production on it and like having more bass to it. To me it isn't overwhelmingly prominent but still up front.
I don't like it any worse or any better than the last two. I love the last track and the title track, which I find surprising because of the title.
It's been a week now and still getting daily spins but I haven't had time to read the liner notes yet.

Yeah, the title track is really good and "Take It To The Cross" is really growing on me . . . even with the high vocals in the chorus
