| "The new Stryper album is our best to date. If this was 1987 (when rock and metal ruled the charts) we might have a Grammy waiting with our name on it. But since this is 2018, we're just happy knowing that our fans will love it. We are blessed. Can't wait to get this one into your ears! Three things stand out to me on the new Stryper album: #1 - Songs! They're edgy and heavy, yet memorable and catchy. And yes there's a ballad (rock/guitar ballad). #2 - Clarity! We tried hard to make this our most defined and dynamic album ever. We didn't get into a "loud war" while mixing & mastering. Because of that it retained it transients and it really "breathes"👍 #3 - Stryper got their groove back." Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada's The Metal Voice recently spoke with Sweet. He discussed the new Stryper album, a new song called "Take It To The Cross" that will feature death metal growls, new bassist Perry Richardson, faith, and the shooting of the upcoming Stryper documentary. http://bravewords.com/news/stryper-new-album-complete-this-is-our-most-defined-and-dynamic-album-ever | |

| That's okay, because that hopefully won't be the main thrust of the song. I can cope with some death growls if they're done in a certain way! _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

| Yeah, I know I'm a death metal fan, but I'm not sure I want them on a Stryper song. That being said, I think as accent vocals it can be a nice sonic effect. I'll reserve judgement until I hear it. | |

| I listened to part of Michael's interview. I would classify myself as part of that group of fans who think they are currently making the best albums of their career.
It also sounds like he is talking about using those growls for effect in the chorus and also at the end.
Whoa!! A Stryper documentary currently being filmed and will continue to be filmed during the tour! Highlights of the tour, interviews with people who credit Stryper with helping them change their lives, interviews with fans (including Chris Jericho and Larry the Cable Guy), home movie footage including Rob Halford joining them on stage for "Breaking the Law."
Album due out in April!!!

| Hmm.
If they add the Death Metal growls sparringly to one song only I will probably be alright with it. If they pop up on more than one song I probably won't be happy at all. There last two studio albums have been absolutely amazing. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I think I can deal with the death metal growls much easier than I could handle black metal shrieking or even hardcore shouting or "gasp" rapping (which has to be some sort of transgression). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I think the title is quite silly and comes off as trying too hard to be edgy, but that's just me... The cover is interesting too. It sorta looks like there were three or so different artists that did different segments and then someone just photoshopped 'em all together. I do like though the angel guys flying around (even if no angels I've ever read about in the Bible have wings, but whatever) and all the little details on the buildings and such which remind me of Somewhere In Time.

I think the title is quite silly and comes off as trying too hard to be edgy, but that's just me... Kind of think both of those myself as well. - Candlemass wrote:

| I like the artwork but I really don't like the title. Yes, I know what they are trying to say but without a comma after God or an 's' on dam it's too close to the edge. Poor choice of words in my opinion.

I'll ad trying to be edgy as a marketing ploy. They've tried that in the past and it hurt them. One day, Stryper will have to accept that no matter how big the classic rock band they aren't going to be multi-platinum sellers again. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I'm not a fan of the title and the art is losing me the more I look at it. Yeah, I get it. It's supposed to be edgy like THWTD, but like Kerrick said, I think they are trying too hard. I'll likely still buy the album because this is a great band cranking out killer music right now. | |
