| The Han Solo Movie. Was there anyone here who saw it and didn't like it? I thought it was pretty darned good (substantially better than the last Jedi). For some reason I get the felling that it didn't do so well at the box office because too many people were disappointed with the Last Jedi film and decided they weren't going to keep watching the new Star Wars flicks. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Not sure I've ever seen Last of the Mohicans. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

Both Solo and Rogue One were worlds better than TLJ. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

The hate came from a large number of Star Wars uber fans who have become entitled brats who think the Star Wars Universe should go exactly the way they want it to go or to follow the EU novels perfectly. I swear, I can't handle even looking at SW fan sites anymore.

I liked Rogue One ok, but I had a problem with it in that there weren't really any characters I felt like I should invest in, like they were all throw-away characters. Then it hit me that of course there were throw away characters because that's the story: a brave group of rebels sacrificing it all in order to bring down the Empire. None of these characters existed in New Hope (except the guys that Ben and Luke get tangled up with in the cantina, that was a nice touch). - Through The Dark Radio wrote:

I'm waiting for the new seasons of The Clone Wars to come out. As soon as I saw Donald Glover was Lando, I knew he would be good in the role, but there's still only one Billy Dee Williams.

| Thanks for all the feedback on the Solo movie guys. I will have to confess that of the 4 recent Star Wars movies I have actually liked the two stand alone films the best (not that I have hated any of them).
I do agree that the franchise looks as if it is being beaten like a dog by it's own uber-fans. I get wanting certain things to occur in your favorite movie series, but if you didn't create it you need to get over yourself and just enjoy the movies if you can, or don't watch them if you can't.... just quit bitching complaining that it doesn't meet your expectations. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | A documentary of sorts that shows both sides of the "culture war". It was fair to both sides of the spectrum and quite well done. I'm going to suggest our Sunday School class watch it. It boils down to just "love one another" - what a novel concept. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

Great movie. Saw it a few years ago. The narrator handles both sides of controversy extremely well...especially the interview with the drag queen toward the end. He simply took time to listen and not judge. Weep-worthy.

| Black Panther I didn't find it to be the "amazing film" that many people told me it was. It was alright and I liked the ending, but much of it seemed really hoaky. Not horrible but overall didn't like it nearly as much as Wonder Woman. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| (Also posted on CMR) Over the weekend We watched The Case For Christ movie with my parents. I did not think it was very good unfortunately. I had read that it was much better than the typical Christian movie and thus had somewhat high expectations... but it was no different than the rest of that type of movie. For the most part, the acting was pretty good. And the scenes with Strobel interviewing/learning from the specialists in their respective fields were interesting, though too short and glossed over in favor of the much overdone family drama (alcoholic atheist father resists God and spoiler: finally gives in and everything's happy). There are a couple side-plots and characters that IMO didn't work very well either. I read the book years ago and liked it quite a bit. I recommend just reading it instead. It's really too bad that Christians just seem incapable of making good movies... Especially in this day and age of pornographic, ultra-violent, and foul entertainment being totally mainstream (i.e. everything on HBO), how great a testament it'd be for Christians to rise up and make quality but wholesome entertainment. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Must not have made a huge impression on me. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
