| I have to agree, BearDad. They are ruining those stories to make them more PC. I despise all this PC bullcrap. It isn't "political correctness". It is the little by little whittling away of free speech.
We rented two movies last night. I thought they were well done and fun.

| I watched "London has Fallen" this afternoon. Not bad in spite of all the F-bombs and the premise of one man taking down an army almost single-handed and living to tell about it. Can anyone say "Rambo"? LOL! - Don't read this if you haven't seen it:
I really liked the part where the hero put on night vision goggles and the camera angle went to first person shooter mode. Unfortunately, they didn't stick with it (jumped camera angles) and it was too brief.

| Went to the theater with the wife and watched Sully (we had free tickets).
Not too bad, but the filmed jumped around back and forth in time quite a bit making the story seem a bit disjointed. Still a fascinating account.
Now I just need to figure out why my wife always gets to pick the films we see at the theater. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

We went Tuesday night when our local theater does a $5 movie promotion. You get free popcorn, too.
We liked the movie. My wife has read a couple of the books and now I want to as well. It felt like a mix of Harry Potter and the X-Men. If Hagrid and Charles Xavier were in it, it would not have surprised me in the least. It will probably be awhile before we get to it. We just started season 4 and probably only watch about 2 episodes a week. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I watched The Guest last night. Decent premise but wow was it a stupid movie... It got pretty good reviews and I thought it sounded fun but it felt like a made-for-TV-movie with its bad script and archetypal characters. I wouldn't recommend... | |

| I wanted to re-familiarize myself with the wizarding world to say the least!
Fantastic Beasts takes place in the 1920s-1930s. The movie series will end, according to JK Rowling, in 1948. What is so important about 1948? If you have read or seen the 2nd Potter book/film, you know that it was about opening the Chamber of Secrets. The book came out in 1998. That means that the original opening of the Chamber of Secrets was in 1948--50 years prior when Tom Riddle and Rubius Hagrid were students at Hogwarts themselves. We all love Hagrid, and we know that Riddle becomes Lord Voldemort.
The new movie is just the beginnings of that tale and focuses on new characters but will introduce much younger beloved characters as Albus Dumbledore and Tom Riddle as the 5 movie series continues. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |
