For some rockin' songs for the bass lessons. Next week will be fun, then we're going to play band. My guitar teacher on guitar and I do the bass. Do you have some suggestions for cool songs we can play?

If you want a huge challenge, try learning YYZ by Rush. I don't know that I'll ever be capable of playing this myself:
If your teacher doesn't mind playing Christian music, then Run From The Darkness by the Daniel Band is a good number. It's not as hard as YYZ by any means, but it's certainly not a boring tune to play on bass, at least not to me:

If your teacher is not know much in the way of Christian music, you should suggest learning some AC/DC songs like "Shook Me All Night Long", "Who Made Who", or "Highway to Hell". It will not dishonor the Lord as you are just learning the notes and how to play in a band.
Also, for your teacher, pick out about 5 to 10 songs that are cool songs but not too difficult from your favorite Christian albums. Burn a CD or give him a flash drive with those songs on it so he can learn them, too.

That's what I did some years ago. I learned "Monster" from Skillet. My guitar teacher went to a gig of Skillet.
Good idea !!!

Maybe you could get him to learn:
Stryper's "To Hell With The Devil" X-Sinner's "Get It" Bride's "Snakes In the Playground"
That would be a great start for you and for your teacher.
