I would be messed up if I lost my phone. What can be done to protect or prevent the bad guys from jacking my phone ?

I found my phone!  I had dropped it at the local dump.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.

I had all location services turned off so tracking it via all the different ways you'll find online would not work.  I now have an app that will do this for me.  I may ditch it and just get the full version of Avast! Mobile Security and I could do the tracking from home, take pictures of the surroundings, etc.

I am very glad to have it back.  It has been a LONG two days without it.

Reading between the lines, I'm guessing you left it there while unloading stuff, not that you lost it in the garbage? Good news either way!

No dumpster diving for me!  One man's trash is another man's trash in my opinion!

I dropped it while unloading my trash Sunday.  We were in a hurry, and I just didn't hear it hit the ground.  The guy who works there found it later before they closed.  Monday they were closed due to being a holiday.  Since I did not have a password on it, he was able to call my wife and tell her that he had it.  I picked it up after school yesterday.  I bought a $25 gift card to thank him with and he wouldn't accept it.
