| I designed the coldest day in summer once. I thought it was a brilliant idea too, but alas, I am still no millionaire.

(Hahaha post in the wrong topic Jim???) He was refering to the post above Yvonnes (about the "self-contained" c-pap idea)...unfortunately it is at the bottom of the page and didn't carry over...making Jim's post look a little silly. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Are you sure "enjoyed" is the right word? Last weekend was very cold and wet. It's a good thing I wasn't working in that.

| I think it's time to pick up the bass & guitar and get crackin' again. Feels like many moons since I've worked on anything. | |

| I read an excerpt in an article for Vengeance Rising and the guitarist said that if he didn't pratice everyday back then, it would only take 7 days before he'd forget the riffs and couldn't keep up with the speed of the songs. | |

| So far if I forget a riff, or part of a song it doesn't take much to get it back. I can still remember how to play a lot of stuff from the early 90's. It's weird. | |

| Time for me to finish tweaking this cigar box guitar and build a few more.....like 5 or 6 of them.
I want to build at least one to auction off to help my wife's cousin have a kidney transplant. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| That's a good goal. I hope the cigar box guitar will be sold for lots of money.
I enjoyed it Driven.
I'm glad I don't understand all things you are talking about in this thread.

| Numbers is really cool if you use a few competent commentaries. Reading Numbers as a new believer was like going to the dentist. But when I first heard crazy Chuck Missler talk about the intricacies and details of stuff in Numbers, I was blown away. Not wanting to take his word for it, I looked into about 7 different commentaries on the book and for the first time actually enjoyed reading/studying Numbers.
It's the same with geneologies that we hate to read... there are some very cool things hidden in geneologies that bring incredible enlightenment to simple lists of who begat who.
Guess that's why the verse says to Study to show yourself approved of God, not simply "read", but study... I think God, in His infinite wisdom, put tons of easter eggs in Scripture that He intended for man to discover in studying. Good stuff !

Have you read all the way through Chronicles yet? I found it even harder to get through than Numbers or Leviticus. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

Have you read all the way through Chronicles yet? I found it even harder to get through than Numbers or Leviticus. Not yet. Most of the books I've read completely are NT, although I did read Ruth at one time. I have tried to read the minor prophet, like Amos and Obediah, ... However, I decided I'm going to start at Genesis are read all the way through, no matter how long it takes. My goal is not time-based, and I know I will definitely struggle at times, especially in those sleeper OT books, but I'll get there. One down, 65 to go.

| The basic message of the NT is easy to understand without the OT - but when I studied the OT for a couple years in depth, it began to open up so much more of the NT to me. I was blown away at many of the mis-conceptions that we have or are taught in strongly NT churches once I understood the culture and references to the OT that made more sense. An understanding of the OT just brings so much light to the NT is all I can say. | |

FWIW, I'm not simply reading. That would be a disaster! I have a MacArthur study Bible, and while I don't agree 100% with his NT interpretations, his notes have been none-the-less helpful. I read a chapter, then read through his comments.
