Getting all nostalgic...
I've had an extensive record collection for some time - I love the sound and the way it takes me back to the 70s/80s.
I have quite a few old Christian records, but am very surprised in my searches (at record stores and thrift shops) that there aren't any Christian rock/metal. You'd think you could find an old Angelica, Barren Cross, Bloodgood, etc.
My thought is, they didn't press as many records of Christian bands as they did of, say, Neil Diamond (which can be found in ANY flea market record stack).
Anyone here ever seen original records by any greats of Christian rock/metal ? Anyone have any ?

I have a Canadian copy of Daniel Band's Straight Ahead. Because it's autographed by all four members of the current band, it is not for sale - a personal souvenir.

I have never seen vinyl for most of the Christian metal classics. I do have a few album flats, however. Those were thin cardboard promotional posters that were the same size as the vinyl album covers that stores could use to decorate and advertise new albums. I have them taped to the underside of my desk in my studio. Since is is glass-topped, you can see them through it. Well, you could until I spread all my recording stuff out on it. I should take them off.

I used to have tons of those album flats wallpapering my room when I was a kid. Those were cool.
I also think I have a Daniel Band vinyl... can't remember. Not signed though.

I would guess that they didn't make a lot of those Christian Metal albums on vinyl. It seems like most of it came out in the mid to late 80's and into the 90's. While most secualr artitst's had their albums released on vinyl and cassette during this period, it wouldn't surprise me if most of the Christian metal was mostly just released on cassette. What was released on vinyl was probably limited pressings.

Our college station had a few of the big names on "major" labels though I didn't know they were Christian at the time (85-92).

I wouldn't buy vinyl even if I found it cheap. I have nothing to play it on. I haven't had a turntable in years.

Vinyl's growing popularity is more than just spin. Last year, 2.8 million records were sold, making the old-fashioned LP the fastest-growing music format in the United States.
Yep, Vinyl is making a comeback.

Oh, and SB, my turntable is a top of the liner that came out before usb was even invented. I've been curious to get a usb player but don't really have a need for one.
