| That's what we often do too, geocaching when we have to go to a city or so. Last weekend we have found a cache while we were on our way home.
1211 caches, that's my goal for a year or five. Let's first find 250 caches this year.
DBF, what owl you have signed?
Geocaching is not a race to grab as many geocaches you can. You have to enjoy to serch for caches, load them and then go out to see if you really can find them. I had to learn that too.

| I remember finding caches while on a trip east of Ottawa. I missed FTF on one of those caches by one day. And then there was was the time I was going down to Wonderland. Geocaching is fun to explain to muggles: "Geo- what?" rockerVu2: We found a Barred Owl, the most common species around here. While we didn't see the owl for very long; its flight pattern, size, and colour indicated it was an owl. I was very pleased! Owls are hard to find where I live. Often, when I know I'm gonna go to another area, I look at the map at www.geocaching.com/map/beta (do you guys know about it?) because it is so much better than the other methods; it is the best way to know where caches are. I'm looking at what I can do Tuesday, I have to deliver papers and that brings me into town. | |

| Without those maps, geocaching would be much harder. I use the maps every time I plan to go out. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Let us know if you get it. It feels good to be the first out there.

| I got my FTF! I had to get out there at 7:00 am, and I arrived at 8:15 am, but I got it! That brings me to 40 caches. Afterwards, we (Dad and I) headed to a nearby escarpment with a little-known trail up there. Whenever we get to 100 caches, we are SO putting a cache upon the trail (for now, there are no caches there). Since it's a hard climb, the terrain must be 4 or close. The view at the top is just so beautiful (minus the deerfly in the upper right ): On our way back, we dropped by another cache, which had been there for several years. I DNF it, and recent logs indicated as much. The hint is very imprecise (4 years old) because it talks about dead trees, which may have rotted away. Oh well, at least I saw a beautiful butterfly (White Admiral): I like sharing my experiences, so don't mind me.

| Keep sharing those. I like to see pics. I need to take more of them when I am caching.

The butterfly fluttered by, then came close. I took a pic, then it came closer. Another pic, and then it came even closer. It was just weird how it only took off AFTER I took the picture.

I didn't sticky it because not everyone here shares the hobby. If we all did, then I'd stick it up top in a heartbeat. But, as it is, just those of us interested read and post in it. It stays pretty busy. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

Nope, I do a little walking, but no gecaching. My sister-in-law used to be an avid cacher, not sure if she still does it or not. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| You should try it once, Staybrite. It can be rather addictive if you have the time. Besides, you are the only one of us here close enough to find the cache hidden at Groundspeak in Seattle.

| Quite frequently, actually. That is part of the risk of the game. Your container can end up being "muggled" as we call it. The term was borrowed from Harry Potter and refers to those who are not cachers. Muggles are everywhere, but sometimes they do stumble across your hide. I have had several of my hides muggled. I need to check on 2 to see if they are still intact.
