WAIT, I thought you said outstanding in the field. That describes Staybrite, outstanding in his field. At least that's where we usually find him. Out standing, in his field.

| I'm possibly going to find a cache or two today.
Incidentally, I'm enjoying the new Maps feature geocaching.com/maps/beta that lets me visually find caches.

| I found four/five caches today. The "fifth" one didn't have a log in it, so I reported it on the website. I DNF two more that I was looking for: one was in the middle of a parking lot and the other was somewhere by a creek. The next one I'll look for is about 3 km away from where I live, and should be an easy-ish find.
So yeah… four or five caches in a day… ups my record!

| Don't give up on those that you DNF on. Those might be there and you just aren't seeing them. If they were recently found, then you might just be overlooking them. Try again. I have found quite a few that I had to look for on multiple occasions.
Counting the 2 event caches, the one in the parking lot at the Adventure Science Center, and two in a nearby cemetery, I got five for the day. That brings me to 1126. Expect that number to grow exponentially during the summer. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Thanks for the encouragement Alldat. I was hungry and wanted to get home, so I didn't want to spend that much time there.
I was going to find one other one nearby, but the listing had been temporarily held (is that how to say it?) just five days before, because too many people reported DNF.
Oh, and while we're at it, I found another one this evening. We were birdwatching and this cache happened to be three metres off the road. My parents were kind enough to stop and let me pick it up. Someone had visited the cache today! (It was a one-star affair that took three minutes at most.)
I'm not exactly hooked, but it's a fun challenge once in a while.

And that's cool. With geocaching, you can do this as often or as little as you want. I met a lady yesterday with around 650 finds. That may sound like a lot, but she has been doing this since 2004. That's less than 100 per year. Some cachers are hardcore and do thousands per year. Others are more hobbyists that just hunt from time to time. You get to decide what level you want to play the game.....and all other cachers (except maybe sabidoo) will accept that and not make fun of your efforts. You're finding caches--you have my respect, young neocacher.

| I should also note that one of my four was down for maintenance. The other three, I was too hurried (had to get to church).
I'm thinking about looking for caches in France this summer. Now I definitely need to get a full GPSr. Getting some international caches would be great, and moving a travelbug or something over to Europe would be cool.

| I've got to drop my truck off tomorrow to have some work done on it. But, I am going caching in my wife's car tomorrow. I have about 20 I want to shoot for. I don't know if I will get them all, but I am going to try. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I gave up after 3 hours of walking in the woods. I needed to pick up my truck anyway, so I quit for the day. I'll go back soon. I DNF one cache and found 8. I'm now at 1134!

| I tried for FTF on a new cache in Lebanon after I picked my wife up from work. I was 3rd, but I did meet the 2nd to find cachers still at the location. We talked for about an hour.

| I found one cache in a park my dad and I were visiting. I'd already looked for that cache, and didn't find it (I didn't log DNF). Turns out I was barking looking up the wrong tree.
Unfortunately, our search for the car keys of a friend was unsuccessful.

| You should log those DNFs, man. If the cache is really missing, this will alert the owner to check it. Even if you have to go back to get this multiple times, other cachers will like to read your adventures while trying to find their cache.

| I only log DNFs if I actually spent time looking for the cache. If I just zipped in and out quickly without trying, well, I don't log anything unless it is not where it should be (according to the hint and everything).
Today I'm thinking of getting one out by a highway, set there to remember a fatal car accident. I've been wanting to go ever since I started geocaching, but stuff always gets in the way of that one geocache!
Monday is a P.A. day, we're going to our Québec cottage and might find one or two while we're there.

| I still haven't been able to go get that cache from the second paragraph above ("Firewall" is the name). Today, though, my dad and I went to find two and succeeded in both.
The first one was an easy grab in a park. Coordinates were about 5-10 metres off, but the post where it was hidden was marked.
The second one, though, was kinda infuriating. I combatted a low battery to find the location of this one, then I had to try to leap up a small but steep hill. It was a slippery slope, and VERY hard to access. And there were the gazillion mosquitoes, each begging for blood. At least I found the cache, and I got 11.4 km of biking round-trip out of it.
While looking at the Geocaching.com/map/beta link, I saw a HUGE trail that followed the "Cycloparc" (a biking trail from Waltham, QC to Aylmer, QC). 125 caches along the way, and that's just the official series. By then, I'll probably have a standalone GPSr though.

| My favorite swag will cost you a few dollars. I actually had some pins made that say "Geocaching is Alldatndensum". I'll leave those when there is something inside a cache I want. I also have pencils that say "Alldatndensum was here! TFTC!" I love finding swag with someone's user name on it that I have never found before. I'll take that over a Happy Meal toy any day.
