I went for a short while today and found 8 more caches and 2 travelbugs. I was trying out my new KangaTek pouch. It is just a shoulder strap that has several padded pockets in it to keep your swag, tools, cell phone, etc. to keep your hands free. I REALLY like my KangaTek!

I really love snow, but not when we like to go geocaching.
There was so much snow fallen that it was not possible to find caches.
Yes, b u m m m e r.

That seems very convenient to use for geocaching to use a thing like this for geocaching.
Hmmmmmm ....... don't forget the spare key of your truck.

I found 4 more caches and picked up 4 trackables. I did drop off three trackables at the same time.

I'm not really trying to find them....they are just showing up in caches. Some people like to look for caches with trackables showing up in the cache inventory. For me, I just like having the pleasure of happening across one at random.

Maybe we can find some trackables in the multiple caches we are gonna do this weekend.
We are going to geocache with a big part of my family.

Caching in the snow is not fun.
We try again today.
If it doesn't work due the snow we have to wait till the snow is gone.

If you can get that app for your Blackberry, perhaps you could go every now and then during the daytime when your family is at work/school. Then, you might not be hindered so much by the weather.

I am hoping to get back out there this week. I have a new GPS the Delorme PN-40. It's SWEEEET!

That's cool to have a new GPS.
Now you have to try your new GPS.

I have a small Black Berry Curve and I'm not sure if it's possible to get that app for this type BlackBerry.

Today we dit a multiple cache.
We have invited my sisters and nieces and nephews.
They liked it to go geocaching.
We only have not found the cache due the snow qnd the ground was frozen.
We go back when it's not freezing anymore.
It was fun to go geocaching after a week not doing this due the snow.

I broke my personal record today for the most caches I have logged yet. I grabbed 65 caches today taking me to 697. Lookout 1000--I am coming after you!

WOW 65 caches.
That is a lot of.

Do you like using your new Delorme PN-40?
I hope the weather will improve so we can cache again.

Now I understand why you haven't read so many books this year.
You were geocaching.
What's the cache you liked the most this year?
Mine is the first multiple cache we have found.

I do like the DeLorme PN-40. It is pretty easy to use. I found 4 more today. So, I am now over 700 for the year.

The Garmin we use is a bit complicated to use.
That's a lot of finds in almost one year.

I have a buddy who found 1000 caches in his first year. He's up to around 1300 now.

Vonnie, if you really want to learn more about caching, make sure you are signed up to the Groundspeak newsletter that comes out in your email weekly. It will have new caches close to you each week. Also, it has events where other geocachers get together and talk about the sport and just have a good time together. Then, after they eat, they go out and geocache.

I am thinking of going to an event on Saturday that is nearby. It will be cool to meet and visit with some other cachers that I know.

I get the weekly Groundspeak newsletter. So I learn more about geocaching.
It's not we haven't found so many caches as you did that I don't like it.
I really like geocaching and it always is great when you have found the caches you were searching for.
The lack of searching so many caches, is the daily pain in my back caused by a hernia that makes me not doing so many caches.
I hope that very pesky hernia will be over in 2011.
We have to go back to find three caches.

It will be nice to meet other caches.
That will be your first cache in the New Year.
I hope we can go to find some more tomorrow too.

We went out again today and found 38 more. That brings me to 739 total. I'm going to an event cache tomorrow, so that will get me to 740. Then, I'll just need 260 to reach my 2011 goal of 1000.

Did you liked to do an event cache?
Didn't go geocaching these days.
I'm not feeling very well.

I have been to 3 event caches before. I want to go to this one today just to meet some other area geocachers and hopefully be able to get hints on ones I cannot find, tips on how to be a better cacher, and just make some new friends.

Didn't you only start in 2010 (I mean you haven't even been doing this a whole year yet have you)?

I started on Jan. 8, 2010. I almost have a full year in. I am not going to reach 1000 by then, but that was never my goal. I started thinking that 100 would be a bunch. That came and went, so I set my new goal to 250. Got that. Then moved to 500 and hit that as well. Now, 1000 is drawing ever closer.

I met a guy today that is nearing 3000 in his first year.

I would think that anything over 365 would be a bunch, cause thats and average of one a day for the entire year.

If you lived in an highpopulated area, the number of caches do go greatly up. You could probably do one a day and not have to travel very far.

I went out and finished the power trail I was working on (power trail is a series of really easy caches designed to get your numbers up quick) and then grabbed a few various caches on the way home. I logged 63 today, which brings me to 804. I am now only 196 from my goal for my SECOND year, and the 1st one still isn't over yet!

I had to go back to school today, so my mega-caching days are done for a while. I will still grab a few as I have time.

Luckily for me, a new series opened up in my home county of 11 easy caches in a shopping center near here. So, since I was subbing just a couple of miles away, I swung by and grabbed this series before heading home. I am now at 815.

I have found and logged almost as many geocaches in the past 7 days then I have in the whole first four months of geocaching. Since last Tuesday, I have found 185. The first 4 months of my geocaching hobby (obsession) I found 186.

That means you can't go caching all day anymore.
Our geocaching slowed down because I started 2011 with being sick.
Yes, being sick is bummer. I really hate it.
Have you gotten the geocaching newsletter this week?
Special in the cities you can find a lot of caches pretty close to each other.
