SNOW?!

It's been particularly cold this winter.  But considering our summer, it isn't too surprising.

I've come to realize that the climate where I live is a lot more stable than the rest of North America. We rarely get crippling snowfalls (precipitation isn't extremely abundant and the snowplow crews are well deployed), extremely cold temperatures (as in 40 below) or deadly summer storms (because we're far enough north and inland that most terrible weather dies out before reaching here). Seriously, come live in Canada, it's not as bad overall as the U.S. has become.

That is, once you get used to the temperature fluctuations, which can vary between just above freezing to below 0 in the space of a couple days. Not to mention winter driving, which involves being patient with a cold car, and driving on ice and in slush (easily taken care of by having good tires).

We are calling for more super cold, supposed to be down to 5degrees. Joy.

We were supposed to get one tenth of an inch of ice and up to an inch of snow last night.  We got a lot of rain.  Nothing else.  Schools are going in two hours late--because of flooding.  With my back issues, I was hoping for a school closure.

It's still not winter here.

The DFW area was supposed to get some ice and possibly snow.  Got cold rain instead, which I'll take

Snow. Cold. Wind. Sun. Melt. Freeze. Ice. O.o
So much ice. Earlier there was lots of snow and the wind was blowing it around n stuff. A lot of snow has melted away now, but we're expecting more snow.

It snowed a lot over night and it's snowing right now. So much snow.

They are predicting 3" of snow this weekend here in our part of Western Washington.

We got a lot of rain this week.

We are clear and 14 degrees today.

We got some rain (thank GOD!!!) and are set to have more this evening.  Gosh we need it!

Yay! I'm happy you guys finally got rain!

Practically no snow here.

We got some snow here in the DFW area this morning.

High supposed to be 17 today. Break out the bermudas.

It was 16 degrees this morning when I started my car. Much too could for my part of the world.

Does your car have a block heater?

It is 19 degrees here this morning.  My truck does not have an extra heater to get it going.  The battery does just fine to crank the engine.

No snow here today.
Again it's very windy and it's raining all day.

19 degrees here too. Also got about 3-inches of snow last night. Funny thing is that I work in a town about 26 miles north of where I live. When I got about 7 miles away from my house there wasn't anymore snow. We got 3" of snow, but the town just 8 miles away doesn't have any.

1 degree this morning and 4 inches of snow. Butt clenching cold.
