I'm just curious but has anyone here lost their job because they don't want to get the vaccine, or do you even know someone who has lost (or is losing) their job because of vaccine mandates?

Not that I know of. But on a side note, I've had two jabs, which constitutes a full vaccination, but they're just announcing that a full vaccination is now three jabs. If you only have two then it's possible you can't go abroad.
I'm not sure if I want a third.

I know a nurse who was being threatened of losing her job. She hasn't yet.

That is part of the reason I asked. My wife is in the situation where the people in her hospital will not be kept after some date in November if they haven't had two shots. She knows a few people who are gone already because they didn't want to get even one shot of the covid vax. However, most of those people have been replaced already.

Most people here are choosing to be vaccinated (90% first dose and something like 82% second dose, I've had three and will have a booster in May), but there is a small minority who are very anti. There was a small protest march past my house today. They were really mad that they will need to show proof of vaccination to work in some workplaces (schools, hospitals, aged care facilities). As someone who is severely immunocompromised, I have trouble sympathizing. I really want to see their point of view, but from the prison that is my house, I just can't get my head around it. Who uses hospitals? People who are already sick and vulnerable. Even if the vaccine isn't perfect protection, it is at least some protection. If they want to work with vulnerable people, get the vaccine. It's a no brainer. I just don't get it.

A vaccine is supposed to protect the one who is vaccinated. Nobody else. When I was vaccinated against polio, I didn't walk around fearing those who may not be. The vaccine kept polio from infecting my body. Nobody I know got polio, either. That vaccine works.
I know they changed the definition of "vaccine" to fit why the C-19 vaccine doesn't work, but a vaccine is supposed to keep the vaccinated from getting sick by that which they are vaccinated.
My brother and his boss got C-19 at the exact same time. One is vaccinated, the other is not. They both had the exact same symptoms for the exact same amount of time. If the vaccine worked, one wouldn't have gotten sick or, by the new definition of "vaccine", they wouldn't have been as sick for as long as the unvaccinated.
My immune system is supposed to have a 97% effective rate against C-19. I'll trust that over a man-made toxin any day.
If people want to take this vaccine, that's their choice and personal decision. But they don't need to fear the unvaccinated if the vaccine truly works.

I had to replace the SIM card in my phone yesterday, and my 5G reception is better! If I lose my sense of smell again, it is probably caused by having 5G!

Tennessee's governor has allowed all of his executive orders for COVID to expire.

Jen, not trying to fight here but since they are now saying the vaxxed can get and spread the virus as the same rate as the unvaxxed it seems this forced vaccination program is more about control. Check out a place like Gibralter which was over 100% vaxxed and are now shutting back down due to the latest outbreak. It's here, it's going to stay and like all viruses, the compromised need to protect themselves.

I learned 2 days ago (6/2/20) that my position has been eliminated to help the company weather this crisis (after being laid off since Easter).
Some of you I tagged on FB know this already - after 180 applications and interviewing for approximately 25% of those over the past 17+ months, last week I received 2.5 ( ) offers.
Today, I accepted the offer from a company based in the UK that creates software most closely aligned with what I have done for the majority of my career. I'll be on the back end, helping install, configure, integrate, customize and test the system as needed and support and train our customers.

My grandson tested positive though he never had any symptoms. He was quarantined for the last 10 days. Despite that, I have family members who refuse to come to our yearly Thanksgiving dinner, close family too. I'm pretty upset about it, but I guess I understand that people are scared to death of this thing. The grandson isn't coming and the rest of us have had our vaccines (though they're saying that doesn't matter either)

I have an uncle who lives about 16 miles from our new home here in Arizona. I haven't seen him since before we got here (back in April), because he doesn't like going out in public much because of Covid (but he and his wife are vaccinated). Not sure I blame him though he is in his late 70's and immune compromised.

The amount of fear they have foisted on people is off the chain. There will always be variants now and we have to learn to deal and as Christians, fear is not how we should live.

I still use Trump's term for it and call it the Kung Flu!

Here comes the super ultra scary latest variant out of Africa. How convenient, they want to force kids to get the jab and now a supposed variant that targets kids is found. They're not even subtle at this point.

While I did take it and am glad that I did, I don't think I would want my small children (if I had any) to get this shot. It only has FDA emergency approval--not full approval as with most drugs. Besides, the FDA lost a lot of credibility helping the WHO lie about the Kung Flu coming from a lab in Wuhan.

Strewth!
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-59474808
Greece is to make Covid vaccinations mandatory for people aged 60 and over. Fines of €100 (£85) will be imposed at monthly intervals from mid-January on those who refuse, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said. The money will go towards the Greek health system, which is struggling with a surge in hospital admissions. About 63% of Greece's 11-million population is fully vaccinated, but data show more than 520,000 people over 60 are yet to get the jab. "Greeks over the age of 60... must book their appointment for a first jab by January 16," the premier said in a statement to the cabinet. "Their vaccination is henceforth compulsory."
