I have had the full length album by this band for several years now on a CD-R bootleg CD from Retrospect Records. There were no lyrics or band photos.
Well, Retroactive will be releasing this on CD sometime this year. Not only will it contain the 8 songs from this cassette release, it will also have the 4 songs from their previous demo as well. All of this will be mastered for CD, and the release will have a 15 page booklet.
All I can say is this: I will be getting this one!

Interesting! I have always wanted to hear this. Go here and read: http://nolifetilmetal.com/holysaint.htm Apparently Scott Waters was friends with them (look at the awesome hair photo!) and they led him to Christ. Scott even designed their logo. I've always wondered about this release since seeing it on the NLTM site years ago.
I might get this but it is hard for me to listen to poor quality cassette demos so I am hoping a remaster helps a lot .

I have the bootleg CD of this. It doesn't sound bad as it is. I did a quick remaster for myself and cleaned it up quite a bit. If it sounds really good, then I will add this and get rid of the bootleg copy.

Well, it looks like this project is not happening now. According to a recent post by Scott Waters on Facebook:
"One former band member felt he wasn't informed of the release. We had approval from one band member (who even wrote some liner notes) but the other was unhappy and threatening legal retribution, so we decided to abort it. Shame because it was a beautiful package which honored both their singer who passed and of course, Jesus. The music was mastered to perfection and the packaging contained a 16 page booklet with tons of photos and liner notes. They would have been payed their royalties and the music and message would have prevailed. I'm very disappointed as it won't be released and it seems I also lost a friend in the process."

How does one "feel" that they weren't informed? Either you're informed or your aren't.

Oh man that stinks! I guess people will just keep passing around inferior bootleg copies and the remaining band members won't see a penny for any of it. Or some other fly-by-night label will issue a cheap subpar cdr with scanned artwork and the artists still won't get a penny (oh wait that already happened didn't it?).

Just playing Devil's advocate here. We don't know the whole story, just Scott's version of it. It's sad that the release is not happening, but it's sadder that there's finger pointing going on and failed relationships. I pray Scott and his friend find a way to see each other's point of view and that the public don't condemn the friend for one scathing post on Scott's part. It's very sad.

Knowing Scott through the years, I highly doubt he was doing anything shady.

Goodness, I was definitely not suggesting that he was doing something shady. Just that there are always two sides of a story. It could be something as simple as the dude wasn't happy with his performance so didn't want the demos made official. Maybe it's something as awful as he's lost his faith so doesn't want to be associated with the project. Who knows.

It just feels odd but I don't know what happened. A chance to get your music back out there missed. Ah well, life rolls on.

I read through some of the exchange before the official announcement came. It seems that Scott and Retroactive had gotten permission from one member, but another member felt they were doing it without permission since he didn't know about it. He was pretty mad about it. However, it seems that the other bandmate just didn't inform everyone about the deal to reissue this. So, Scott and Retroactive got blamed but it sounds like just a mess in the band. It's sad, really.

Several other bands have done the same thing. I believe Scarlet Red (members) blocked the reissue of their CD. Not that sales would be huge but I wouldn't mind a remaster. I think First Strike also stopped the reissue of Rock Of Offense.

I've met Scott and have known him for several years through Firestream & CMR. I trust what he has to say.

I remember First Strike getting pulled because one or more of the band members didn't want it reissued, but I hadn't heard about Scarlet Red.

Wasn't Scarlet Red embarrassed about the music now?

They were! They were also embarrassed by how they looked back then.

I sort of get that, but the look was just part of the scene. The grunge era look will become that big of an embarrassment to that generation. When one of these classic bands is reissued, though, it needs that look for the nostalgia's sake. It would be like buying a Nissan and slapping a Lexus emblem on it. Something just wouldn't be right!
