What are your favorite albums from 1988, regardless of genre?  Following are a few of mine:

1. Sacred Warrior - "Rebellion"
2. Joshua - "Intense Defense"
3. Saint - "Too Late For Living"
4. Barren Cross - "Atomic Arena"
5. Kings' X - "Out Of The Silent Planet"

Honorable mentions: Bloodgood ("Rock In A Hard Place"), Bride ("Live To Die"), Jerusalem ("Dancing On The Head Of The Serpent"), Neon Cross ("Neon Cross") & Rez ("Silence Screams"

Any notable albums that I have overlooked or missed?

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son was released in 1988.   Cool  I don't own any Christian metal from that year though.   Neutral

Out of that list it's easily Barren Cross but there are many good albums you listed.

Hmm, seems like someone just asked me this question on another forum  Laughing

Not in order of importance....but my favorites from that year would have to be.

Bloodgood - Rock In A Hard Place
Joshua - Intense Defense
Neon Cross - Neon Cross
Rez - Silence Screams
Ruscha - Come Alive
Sacred Warrior - Rebellion
Saint - Too Late For Living
Shout - In Your Face
Whitecross - Hammer & Nail

For some reason I have Barren Cross - Atomic Arena as 1987 on my lists.

I am at work on an article outlining the top 15 albums from 1988 and wanted to get the input/opinion of as many people as possible, I do not want to overlook anything.

Ruscha - Come Alive is a good call- did not even think of them when putting together the initial list.  The Enigma packaging states "Atomic Arena" is 1988.

Do you have a full list from that year?  Without going through my collection to see what I have, I can't even remember the years anymore.

I know, shame on me...  Embarassed   I do enjoy me some classic/heavy metal, though none of the Christian bands in that genre I've heard have really clicked with me.  Maybe I'll use this thread as a starting point to check some bands out further.

Since I assume you mean Christian, the only one I can recall playing on the radio in 88 was Gargoyle - s/t (and I didn't know they were Christian at the time). Cool fact: the 3-song radio EP for this album is the ONLY vinyl I still have. All my other vinyl wasn't Christian and was sold. Well, Rez Band's Bootleg was also Christian it turned out, but I didn't care for it (not a fan of live albums to begin with).

If we're including what I know of now, Barren Cross, Neon Cross, Sacred Warrior and Whitecross would be my picks for 88 releases.
