It was a close toss-up between Hit You Where You Live and Mine Field, and the former got my vote. I also enjoyed Open Book and Defector.

I went with Mine Field. I remember getting this on cassette popping it in my boom box and screaming like a total girl "YES!!! PETRA'S GONE METAL!"

Ah, Petra's most metal album. A great album, save for the ballad at the end, which I hate. Otherwise, 9 great songs. I mean it, just one great song after another.

For me, this came down to between All Fired Up and Counsel of the Holy. I chose All Fired Up because of its energy; but Counsel of the Holy is one of my favorite Petra songs too.

I went with Somebody's Gonna Praise His Name. There are some Petra songs I like because they rock, and there are others I like because of the message. This one is the latter, altho the tune is catchy as well.

I have to go with "All Fired Up" just for the total fun factor. It's just got a great sound, a good message, and a great hook. That contains all the great elements for a hit song.

Beyond Belief and Destiny were more metallic than this disc imo.... I dug this one plenty, but once again saw 'em live with Whiteheart who were touring behind Freedom and they smoked Petra.... just killed 'em live....

Favorite track is Mine Field but any of the first three along with Defector would get my vote
