This thread is hilarious. On page 29 alone we have Chris's show, confessions of love, advice from the love doctor (Kerrick), and talk of Southern manners, Canadian manners, tarps, long meetings, Wilson Pickett, babies, chicken nuggets, grits, cookies and oatmeal. Random is right...or perhaps it should be called Meandering Mumbles
Sauteed apples? That sounds really gorgeous.

I'll be praying for you. We have a monthly partner meeting that is scheduled for an hour....and commonly goes over 3 hours. Not fun at all.
The four hour meeting only went for 3.5 hours

Our workplace was broken in to at the weekend. I'm on first callout, so I turned up about 7 minutes after he left.

It is yummy, takes a little effort to dice up fresh apples and saute them over medium-low heat (so the butter doesn't burn). But they really add something great to the oatmeal, especially when paired with the dried cranberries.

I work in a printers. In all my 20 years there we've never had a break in. Not too sure what they'd want to nick anyway! Still, it made my Fathers Day rather interesting, as I ended up spending 6 1/2 hours at work!

This weekend is the 2nd week of my show that I am doing. This will be the final show in Lebanon, TN. Next week, we will go on the road to the Thomas House in Red Bowling Springs, TN for two nights. Then, this show is done.
Of course, I have to focus on learning VBS songs and preparing sermons to speak at two different churches on July 1 and 15.

I like it that you are back to do play's. Have fun with the shows. That's cool you have to speak in two different churches.

Just said goodbye to my youngest son today. He has joined the Army and will be gone for training for several months. Won't get to see him until October when he graduates. Really happy for him, but kind of sad.

Yikes, that's a few months off. Will he still be allowed Internet and such? (My knowledge of Army training conditions is clearly limited ) Y'all look good, btw.
Then again, I haven't been to my parents' since February or March, and my dad wasn't there at the moment. I did see him in April, though. I guess the distance becomes normal after a bit. My mom's nagging me to come home, but everyone's moving at this time of year, since that's when leases renew and change up here, so I'm sticking around for the next little bit and helping people.

For the first few weeks they have to completely surrender their phones and really have no contact with the outside world (expect for letters from friends and family). From what I understand after a few weeks they start letting them have access to their cell phones for an hour on Sundays (assuming they haven't collectively got in trouble for something). Hard for me to know for sure, because when I joined the Army in 1987 there were no cell phones. No internet either. If you wanted to talk to someone back home you had to get in line at the pay phones during the hour or two they let you off on Sunday. If you called the house and nobody was home you didn't get to talk to anyone that week.
Your mom will continue to bug you about coming home as much as she thinks she can get away with it. You probably won't hear that much from your father (but he will still be really glad when you do come home). Don't forget your parents, while you are are busing doing exciting new things in a fresh environment they are left at home with the same life they had before you left, only now it has an empty space that you aren't there to fill anymore.
