| 1. Your masks are quite exquisite. I like those!
2. The threads are now combined. See, I am a helper!
3. I put the old thread into this one just because of the name. You can't have too many "fartsy" threads. | Did some work on the 2nd cigar box guitar today. It is going to absolutely stunning despite a couple of mistakes.....er.......RUNNING DESIGN FLAWS that I have made! I will find something to cover the couple of mis-drilled holes.
This one is a four string guitar with a big soapbar pickup in it. It will have sealed tuners. I painted the headstock black to match the Java box. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I am currently working on several art projects.
One, as you know, is the 4 string cigar box guitar. I have met several challenges with this build but intend to see it through to the end.
The second project is I have started recording the first song for the new blues album called "When Your Time Comes". It is a very different song from what you are used to hearing from me. It tells the tale of two different people whose lives intersect for one moment. Both die tragically. The whole point of the song is to show just how fragile life is and how quickly it can end. When your time comes, and it will come, will you and Jesus have it all worked out?
The third project I am doing is some artwork for my youth room. I am using some mod podge to attach some colored paper to a canvas board. From there, I will be attaching other photos and lettering to have some unique prints for the walls at churh. This will spice up the room and make it more inviting for first time visitors. One will simply say, "It is well with my soul". I don't know if I will use a guitar picture since the background is sheet music. Or, I might use a ship on a troubled sea since the song was penned by a man who lost 4 daughters at sea and later penned these words while floating through the same spot on his way to England. The other print will say something like "Pray more....Worry less!" I am thinking of just using a photo of someone praying. Either way, I will end up with some unique and original artwork for very little money.

| Here is the first Mod Podge pic I did. I used a couple of 58 cent scrapbooking paper for my base. That's the ancient looking sheet music. Then, I found a picture of a ship on troubled water and printed it on glossy photo paper so the colors wouldn't run if I got them wet with the Mod Podge. My wife had all these alphabet packets she bought for scrapbooking and gave three sets to me for this project. So, I went to work and got the music paper Mod Podged onto the canvas board last night and llet it dry completely. Then, I put on the photo and let that dry. Then, I put enough Mod Podge on the back of the letters to place them where I wanted them. Then, I took a hairdryer to it and dried this as the Mod Podge will dry fast this way. I then coated the surface of all I had done to seal it. Its on there and won't yellow, fade, or run if it gets damp. You can actually dust it with furniture polish and it all stays put. Add a couple of self adhesive Command strips to the back, and this piece is ready to go directly on my youth room wall. In all, I probably have around $6 in this print counting the board and all. Not bad for a piece of original-ish art. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |
