Some songs give me chills or remind me of a certain memory every time I hear them. Like "The Heart of Worship" or Scott Stapp's "Surround Me." On the secular side, Everclear's "Wonderful" always gets me because I listened to it a lot when my aunt died a few years back and it kind of seemed relate able even though it's about divorce. Chombawomba's (so didn't spell that right) "Tubthumping" always takes me back to the 90's. When I listen to TFK's Phenomenon record, I fell like I'm in middle school again, just discovering Christian rock. Does anyone else have songs that automatically make them want to worship, or stir up any memories for better or for worse?

So Would You Come and O Holy Night are rememberances to my parent's funerals.
Child Of Mine of Siloam, Life On The Line of Mastedon, Talkin' 'Bout Jesus of Missionary One, Are You Listening - Mission Of One have really touched my heart. These songs will always be very special to me.

I cannot hear the song "Christmas Guest" by Grandpa Jones or "If We Make It Through December" by Merle Haggard without remembering my dad.

Breathless Wonderment, as I've often said, is always a tear-jerker, and so can If Love Brings Love.

^ Don Francisco must've read Mere Christianity… oddly enough, I read that passage last night before bed.

"The Old Rugged Cross" reminds me of my grandfather (and usually brings tears). DC Talk's "Red Letters" and "In The Light" get to me, as well.

I've posted this before -- but to this day, Plankeye's "Goodbye" song and video always put a lump in my throat cuz of the lyrics, the emotion that comes out in the midst of the song, and the clever video with an elevator signifying the journey of life going up and down, and all the people who come in and out of our lives - touching our hearts, until the "elevator of life" takes them to the "final destiny"...
The final line is also profound: "I never took the time to stop and realize that death takes many forms, even while alive"
To me, the song is just briliant and always chokes me up... guess that's just me.
"It's difficult to say goodbye after only one life The rain will fall down replenishing all of our broken dreams And this burning tree that's withering will bloom again Would you believe Goodbye, goodbye Walk away it's time to say goodbye Goodbye, goodbye Walk away it's hard to say goodbye Now all that's left , pictures on the walls Memories and stories that are told The more often told the bigger they get Create a legacy lest we forget Goodbye, goodbye Walk away it's time to say goodbye No longer can i hold onto this defeated change in heart, i swear It's time to sing "fare thee well" to life as we know it My voice it will be, you know i will be, yes it will be still Something woke me up in the midst of dream and fantasy Halfway there but He always fills my cup And He lifts me up oh how He lifts me up Goodbye, goodbye Walk away it's time to say goodbye I never took the time to stop and realize that death takes many forms Even while alive"

River Disturbance and Sanctuary (ok, so it's a cover…) by Deliverance. I know a lot of people rat on Deliverance for going from speed metal to mood metal (ok, so I made that up…), but really, I think of them as two different bands, because they sort of are. I love both equally, but they're not the same.
I must be tired, because that was irrelevant to the songs… I think it's bedtime…

David Crowder "How He Loves Us" -- There has never been a time I've heard that I have not become completely undone by it.
Guardian "See You in Heaven" -- It is a song that has really carried me through the deaths of several people close to me.
Dolly Parton "He's Alive" -- I have yet to find any song that captures the jubilation of the Resurrection better than this. And I love Dolly
Evanescence "My Immortal" -- I'm not sure why, but when I am in a really down, dark place this is the song that helps me turn things around.
Amy Grant "Arms of Love" -- I have my reasons.
Garth Brooks "The Dance" -- The first time I heard it was at my Dad's funeral and it just stuck with me.
