They've been around for a number of years, but they are still so blessed expensive that I won't be buying one any time soon.  The technology is wicked cool as Gary said.  But, at the price, I'll be tuning my gear myself.

Technology is so cool!  Makes one wonder if learning how to tune a guitar is going to become a lost art somewhere down the line.

When it comes to guitar playing... tuning the guitar is the BEST I can do, sadly

With a few lessons and a little patience, you could do it.  I am not very coordinated and I definitely don't have the patience to practice like I should.  If I can do it, anyone can.

A am about to BUILD a guitar.  Yes, that's right.  Build one.  It will be a very bluesy humidor guitar (cigar box) with only 4 strings.  It should be cool, huh?

An automatically tuning guitar is cool.
But for that rpice you can buy lots of other cool guitars.
Tuning is not hard.

Make a drawing of that bluesy guitar.

Guilty/Forgiven, I can do a bit more on a guitar than you can, I can play some chords.

My guitar teacher built, or bought (I can't remember), a cigar box guitar. I think he only had 3 or 4 strings on it. Those things are really cool.

Mine will be of the 4 string persuasion.  I have ordered a kit for the wiring and all.  I might even buy a special neck for these.  I have a couple of smaller boxes that I am thinking of gluing together for the body.  However, they are rather thick.  I might look to see what I can find at a craft store for unfinished wooden boxes.  That might be a better solution that would not be too thick so it sits closer to my body.

This makes me I want to see that guitar, how it looks.
I'm curious if this guitar has a good sound.

Ya'll pray for me!  I am bidding (one on Ebay and one on Listia) on two different cigar boxes.  I am going to use one to build a 4 stringed guitar.  If that goes well, I might turn the larger box into a full sized guitar with some nice humbucker pickups.  If the first one does not go well, then I will just use the 2nd box for a second attempt.

I got outbid on both of the cigar boxes I was looking at.  That is okay as I found a better one and only paid $14 for it (including shipping).  Now, I just have to wait for the rest of my kit as the company I bought from messed up my order.  Also, I have to order the neck I want to get.  When I am done, this baby is gonna be nice!

See, that's much better than buying this from eBay.
