I really don't care a rip about videos other then to hear a song. Most of the story ones I find kitchy anyways.

Ok Bought4 - that Metallica video is a good example of marrying the two types of videos... course I would be more interested in one with less debauchery in it.

Ok here's a couple video examples that have the band playing their instruments + a "story" or just plain silliness that takes it away from being (what I think is) boring. The songs may not be what you like in music, so just turn the volume down and watch to get an idea of what Stryper and many other bands could be doing in their videos - AND there's like zero budget to film most of these. The best of both worlds - the band rockin' their instruments and some peripheral craziness to go along with the video. (again, I'm not comparing say "Bleach" to Stryper - since there is no comparison musically... Stryper totalsBleach with their music... this is about the video ideas)
A little creativity, some strange costumes, a location, some cool camera angles, and a few after-effects bring you the following interesting videos that were probably not a big budget at all:

How many times has DH done the same video? And I really like them.
And listening to Bleach made me throw up a little in my mouth.

Again, love Stryper, loving the new album... disappointed with the videos. Personal opinion that I'm sure others do not share with me.
I got your back, buddy. If yer gonna try an' get away with band-only videos nowadays you better make it spectacular (ie, flames, lasers, etc) so I feel like I'm at a concert. Just no excuse anymore.

LOL, we just have major humor-diarrhea on this thread don't we ?
Guess me and TopShot will have to chill out with some concept videos all by ourselves here.

I like a mix of a concept and the band playing. I especially like it when the video shows the musicians during a technical passage, such as a drum or guitar solo. It's also nice to see a band playing sometimes, if it's just a really technical song ("Xanadu" by you-know-who comes to mind).
