| Yep it's that time of week again boys and girls. Time to wrap your brains around some terribly non important query and chime in with your results. So without further ado, here is this weeks question.
What was your worst job ever?
It doesn't even have to be a job you did for long, or even got paid for. But what was the worst job you can remember doing (hmm digging ditches and splitting fire wood was my first thought...).
The worst job I ever had was at a brick factory. I spent 8 hours either placing unbaked bricks on a moving car to head into a kiln, or removing them from the kiln and stacking them on a palate for shipping. The labor was hard and fast paced (and it really developed my forearms), but that wasn't the reason it was my worst job. It was the worst because of the crew leaders, they spent the entire shift yelling at the crew for being too slow. Then during the breaks they would pull select individuals aside and tell us we were doing a good job....then go back to yelling at the whole group once we started working again. I only lasted about 3 weeks before I quit. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I worked at a distribution center for USA Drugs. They stuck me in shipping, and basically threw me to the wolves. 2 minutes of training and I was on my own. And then there was a guy yelling at everyone that we all needed to speed it up.
I worked there one day. Never went back again.

| It's a toss up between Walgreens Pharmacy and Vons Pharmacy. I'll have to choose Vons. Too many negatives to list here. But in a nutshell: Percentage of work to percentage of employees made it so we were non-stop behind. Big signs in front created by corporate mucky mucks who never set foot in a pharmacy guaranteeing their prescription will be done in less than 15 minutes. A pharmacy manager who was not only wet behind the ears, but didn't like to work at all - sat around all day on Facebook while meds were never checked out making patients wait for nothing. (he ended up getting fired for stealing morphine, but not until after I chewed him out in front of everyone and quit). Other issues were fellow employees who loved to play the "seniority" card on vacations and days off, so that us "lessers" would end up working every Sunday. I could easily go on, but I think you get the picture. | |

| Working at a nursing home as a nursing assistant. It wasnt so much the poop-cleaning or even the patients in the throes of dementia who would fight you in their confusion.
It was those who had no one to come visit them. They'd sit in their chairs or up in their beds and just stare when others had loved ones to come visit. Sometimes you could see these weak, half-smiles, like they were remembering a time when they were younger, vibrant, active and had family and friends around them. They had jobs and homes and lives and now, they were just 'deposited' and waiting to die.
I'm tearing up now just thinking about it. Just walking into the building brought on a wave of depression.
My job being what it was, I didnt have time to give any of them special attention. I was expected to run through them like they were on an assembly line and I was trying to make production.
It was so awful. I never want to do anything like that again. I've got my NA II certification now, but I'll never use it, other than to make my resume look good when I finish what I'm doing in school now.

| Building tires for Bridgestone. I worked in other departments before I actually started assembling tires there. The last 6 years of my almost 19 really did it for me. Fast paced work, constant bickering between the company and union over who was screwing over who, 12 hour shifts, being isolated from other people, etc. The environment really got to me. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| The job as an administrative assistant at an institute for the blind. That really wasn't nice. It only has been for a very short time. | |

| Mine would have to be the 7 years I spent working at a sewage treatment plant. It was a fun time with lots of joking around and such, but the poo-poo was the worst. (Remind me later to tell yall about stealing a co-workers car while there.) For my first 5 years I drove a tanker truck and hauled the $#!+ to nearby farms. It was hot and it STUNK!!! On a few occasions there would be a malfunction and I would end up covered from head to toe in human excrement. Good thing they had showers available. On my second day there, we were fixing a part in a holding tank that hadn't been used in over a decade. One of the guys ended up getting a mouth full of 10+ year old crap. Watching him puke and gag was AWESOME! | |

| My current one. I've been with the organization over 5 years, and thanks to budget cuts, I've had 2 forced demotions and lost over $15,000 a year in the last 2 1/2 years.
Oh, and a promotion to the job I made the most money in just came open, I applied and I was basically told the interviews are a formality because upper management knows who they want in the position - she's already moved her stuff into the office and everything.
My last day here will be an interesting one.

| Hard to tell, as I've only had two jobs, but probably my paper route (the other is lawn mowing). While mowing = mosquito slapping, the papers barely pay $100 a month. | |

I remember those days. But back when I was working a paper route $100 was really good money (but that was back in the early 1980's) _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I think the story sabidoo has share with us is the most stinky job.

I remember those days. But back when I was working a paper route $100 was really good money (but that was back in the early 1980's) It still is good money. Most routes around here are $40-$50 a month. I landed a relatively good one. Hopefully I can get a summer job, whether I'm working for the city (maintenance and stuff) or for a wildlife refuge (maintenance, counting animals, presentations…). If I can't, I'll probably apply for work at Christian summer camps around here.

Wow $40 to $50 a month doesn't sound like a good route at all. Back in 1981 I earned about $35 to $40 a month doing my morning route and I had less than 30 customers (all in my neighborhood). The next year I took over a larger route with around 50 customers and I was making something like $60+ a month. It was good money at the time. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | I worked one day for a gas company laying underground pipeline........spent the day down in a trench in 100 degree + heat, no shade or breeze, holding pipe sections steady so that the welding crew could join them together......and the welding crew set my shirt on fire twice that day.....I did not show up for day 2.

| Ah reminds me of my ditch digging days. Spent about a week digging up the main water line for my landlord so he could find a leak. Didn't have to pay rent that month but I'm not sure it was worth it. At least nobody tried to set me on fire. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
