The One Cd I have that is secular that i have and listen too!! Is a band called Riverdogs!! it is their self-titled cd. Actually the lyrics have themes that are definately christian!!!
It has that really good early 90's rock sound!!! I have found nothing offensive in the lyrics at all!!
I also like some Jorn songs but I havnt bought any of his cd's because of his lyrics!! He has some some songs that could be christian others are not!!!
Thas my 2 cents

It's been ages since I heard that Riverdogs album...wasn't Jake E Lee or Vivian Campbell (or one of those other great 80's metal guitarists) in that band?
I have heard a few Jorn songs, and he has a fantastic voice...too bad some of his song lyrics are so bad.

If you're a Jorn Lande fan, you should check out the Allen/Lande project that he did with Russell Allen. Great melodic metal with very clean and positive lyrics.

I don't listen to the secular bands I used to. Many of them were just the typical sex, drugs, and rock n' roll lyrics that I don't think pleases God. Who were my faves back in the day?
AC/DC Kiss Motley Crue Poison
This list could go on and on.

I have really been getting into power metal these days. I love hammerfall, Blind Guardian, Jorn, Masterplan and the older power metal like Fates Warning and Dio's solo albums...not to mention Rainbow. Also been checking out alot of old glam bands that never got big label deals. There were some great bands that should have gotten signed...way better than the trixter's and Nelson type bands.

I was a Mega-Fan of Megadeth back in the 80s, starting with his first release "Killing is my business..." Even seen them in concert when I was 17.
When I came to faith at 19, I obviously trashed all my Megadeth albums.
With recent changes in the band toward a more Christian foundation lyrically, I've been sniffing around Mustaine's last few albums... kind of at a distance. I've read many great things Dave has said in interviews as well as YouTube videos. But for some reason, I still feel that distance from them that I did when I first came to faith back in '89.
I'm not trying to come off "holy", or as if Megadeth is a evil thing, I'm just at a crossroads when it comes to where I stand with them.
Some hear that he's a Believer now and get his newer works... cool. But then I've seen some Christians who have his newest stuff as well as the early albums (that are definitely NOT Christian friendly - Dave himself would even tell you this)
Anyways, I'm just thinking out loud here on my own feelings about where I stand with Megadeth.

Boarders covered a Megadeth song on The World Hates Me, even though they weren't just a cover band by then.

Heart is one of my all time favorites. Rumor has it that one of the Gallagher (sp?) brothers from Raven is working on the new Armageddon recordings.

well, since I've gone back to the "christian only" position when it comes to music.. I don't listen to secular. lol
Megadeth is not a christian band and lyrically I don't see that much difference in the last few albums...

Yeh, I see that with Alice Cooper too. I'm glad they know the Lord and hope it's all legit... but as for a lot of artist's-turned-Chistians, I don't see much change, if any, in their lyrics. (Then there are artists like Brian Welch... now THAT'S what I like to see and hear -lyrically)

well.. from what I've seen of Brian's new band it's not up to my standards lyrically.. but better than some.
as far as Alice Cooper.. there have been a few songs that he has done that are definitely "christian overtoned" .. more than Megadeth anyway.
far cry from what I would consider "christian" and would be spiritually edifying for me to listen to.
