I ended up picking up a total of 13 on our trip this week to Alabama and Florida. Between being sick for a good part of the trip, I don't think that's too shabby. I am going to seriously push to break 1500 tomorrow.

Found 17 geocaches.
One of them was a micro hidden in a rock.
But to find 17 micros isn't always fun.
Some were hidden on dangerous places close to a highway.
Others were DNF.

I only managed to find 43 today, while out with Alldat. Only17 more needed to have 500 finds.

Ok, I'm just jumping into this thread with a question that may or may not have been answered in the last 12,000 pages:

I've got my brand new iPhone 4 now, can I Geocache with it ?

Yes, there are a few apps that will let you cache. DBF is an iJunkie, so he can steer you in the right direction. If you like it via the free apps, then you can get the $30 app "Geocache Navigator" and REALLY be a world class cacher....like me :-)

I'd be pleased to help ya, sir. Smile

Here are two basic apps, by Geocaching.com, which you could use. (I only have the first one. but I'm told the second one has some bugs.)

Geocaching Intro, to… um… introduce you to geocaching. Free off the App Store.
http://itunes.apple.com/app/geocaching-intro/id329541503?mt=8

Geocaching, the full-featured version. $10 from the App Store.
http://itunes.apple.com/app/geocaching/id292242503?mt=8

There's a lot more available here, ranging from free to $10: http://ax.search.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/search?media=software&term=geocaching

Check it out. Thumbs Up

You can also use C:Geo on your iPhone.

I stopped to let sabidoo grab a couple of finds I had already snagged. So, while he got 43 finds, I only ended up with 41. I now lack only 11 more to reach my goal of 1500 by Jan. 8.

I'm at my brother's apartment in Hamilton. So my parents decided we should go for a walk… and it was based around 4 geocaches. My dad found the first two, my dad and I found the third, and my mom found the fourth. It was her first ever find. Smile

I think C:geo is for Android only. I'm not sure about that however.

Sign up for the free account at www.geocaching.com and search out a few easy ones to see if you like it. We can answer almost any geocaching questions you have. If you don't like it, at least you won't have spent a ton on an expensive GPS.

I scored 19 finds in all today and grabbed two FTFs thanks to sabidoo sending me the coords and info. I passed my 1500 goal and am currently at 1508.

How cool is it to find that many caches in one day.
That's why I love to do series and powertrails.

Great you passed your 1500 goal now go on to 2000 finds.

Those 19 finds was the a serie of caches hidden very close to each other?

I found one cache while we were re-filling the van's leaky tire with air. I like those truck-stop caches. (I imagine Sabidoo has found quite a few!)

Some of them were close together. But, I also put over 100 miles on my truck yesterday. This wasn't a series or a power trail. It was just me and my GPS doing what I like to do.

It's fun isn't it to find lots of geocaches on one day.
I only don't like it when you have loaded lots of caches and some are DNFs.
Monday we had to jump over a creek to find the cache.
Hmmm I'm not very good in jumping over creeks.
I end in the middle of the creek.

lol!

You're about as coordinated as I am. Rolling Eyes Razz

Some caches take a lot of bushwhacking to access, but as long as the cache is there, it is worth it.
