| I am ripping mine to MP3 to feed to the Zune right now. Time to get acquainted with a new friend. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Now that I've had a chance to listen, here are my thoughts:
This is the first time I think I have ever heard Bride just sound natural. I hear a band unbridled and doing something fresh. Oh, they still bring the crunchy riffs and plenty of leads, Dale's voice is strong, and I've always liked Jerry's playing--it's all intact! But, this is one of the first times I feel like they have quit chasing trends and just doing their own thing.
Also, this is the disc, that if inserted in the correct place, ties all of their previous works together. I hear songs that would fit on most every album (expect for the first two). I've heard things that remind me of "Kinetic Faith", "Snakes", "Drop", "The Jesus Experience", "Fistful Of Bees" (minus the rap), and the more recent "Skin For Skin". If Bride could take all their past albums, toss them in a blender with all of their influences as well, blend until creamy smooth, then "Tsar Bomba" would be that concoction.
Unfortunately, the band has announced repeatedly that this is the final Bride disc. It is sad because I feel that the band has truly found themselves and has something new to offer. I could use a few more releasses with this flavor! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| It's really sad for this CD is the last Bride CD. Maybe at one day they change their mind and dive in the studio to make a new Bride CD. | |

| I know they won't do it and maybe they have burned to many bridges but Bride could make the comebacks of comebacks. Look at a band like Disciple. You look at there 3 albums (By God,Back Again,TMSAL) they weren't not commercially sucessful. But then when they changed to a little bit of a more modern rock while keeping there edge they got another chance and look at em now. If Bride was willing to go to a more modern rock sound and put in the effort, I bet some label would give them a chance. | |

They've tried this route many times, but never were able to attract a significant interest. |

| Very true. "Fistfull Of Bees" was a significant jump toward the rapcore that was very mainstream when that CD came out. Nobody really wanted to hear some old dudes trying to rap. However, that is still a very underrated disc in my opinion.
I think Bride has done well with this disc mixing in old and newer styles. As far as I am concerned, this is a huge comeback CD for them. But, then again, so was "Skin For Skin".

| I remember Dale emailed asking what people wanted in the new Bride, and I sent him my suggestions. A while later he emailed back to say they went with half the songs being heavy and the other half being more modern style (I guess he met the rap styled songs). So although some of the songs are rap styled some are very similar in style to The Jesus Experience.
And yes, I too (like alldat) think that FFB is an underrated album, just think of songs like Soul Winner, California Sunshire, Jesus In me and White House.

| FFOB is a good album. It took a lot of listening to get to like it, though. |
