| "It's Love" by Kings X
I get the chorus.... but what's the two portions surrounding the chorus mean - and how does it relate to the chorus
I sit in a chair reflecting back upon my life and I have so much yet to learn and so much yet to see and do
chorus it's love that holds it all together i just had to let you know that it's love thats holding back the weather and the same will let it go
i sit on the beach feeling the wind feeling your hand in all theres a ship on the ocean and i cant decide if i like it

| Almost a little too artsy for this "simple guy".
Probably why I quit trying to write song lyrics over a decade ago. I'm just not poetic enough. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| King's X is one of those bands lyrically that I just never got into because of the poetic lyrics. I just couldn't see what they saw. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| For me it's a big job to give you all my lyrical interpretation. Scared I misunderstood the lyrics and you will laugh. | |

| Give it a shot, girl. Maybe you have a better view of what this is about then we do. I don't really have a clue.

| I have to admit this is a very tough one. Tried to think what they mean with those lyrics, but I really have no idea.
My idea is the next lyrical interpretation please. | |

| Wow, on first read i wonder what he/she was on when they wrote that. But upon a second read, I'm scratching my head. Then on a third read a thought
The verses reflect our view on life and what we would have or have not happen. The chorus is the surrender to God in that God knows what is best for us no matter what life throws at us.
He sees a boat. Is it a boat of war? It brings anxiety to our thoughts in that the future looks bleak, but the chorus reminds us that its God who can hold back the storm and it's God who can release its fury. Either way, we are in His care and all is well.
Just a thought | |

| Oooh Pouncer, that's some good stuff. I think you may have nailed it. Especially that last verse... that always had me stumped, but what you said brings new light to it. The ship could be death on the horizon coming his way... he's not sure he likes the whole death thing (who does?) but the chorus once again comforts his heart, knowing that God holds that destiny.
Wow, deep stuff. | |

| Ok, the ship part kinda makes sense now. The ship represents changes/challenges ahead. But, it's love that comforts the writer. I get it now.
