I voted for their politicians
I've seen all the dirty religions
I wore their three piece suits
But I did not wear their army boots
I didn't fire the guns of war
Never knew what we were fighting for
Everybody wants the fame
Everybody knows my name

Its got the feel of what it is to be a celebrity.
- Want's to have and enjoy all the world can give...
- Knows of the truth, yet does not know....
- Loves all that comes from freedom or living in a free society....
- Yet want's nothing to do with what keeps it free.

He wants his cake and eat it too. He wants peace but can't find it in all his/her celebrity, yet he/she has heard "about a man who died on a cross for everyones sins if you want to make a change you've got to put your faith in him."

That's pretty much the way I see it. Life is empty, even with all it's trappings, without Christ. I love the way that there is nothing Christian about it apart from the last verse, which packs a punch.

It's about you're typical cliche rockstar. Born with a rough life, drugs booze, gets famous. He then realizes that without God, is fameis worthless. Without God, who cares about all the high life? A relationship with Christ will always be more important cause it gives what money and fame can't.
