Hard rock with some blues overtones.  I heard a song of theirs online and sent them a message about their CD.  They sent it to me for free in the mail.  I haven't listened to it yet, but I will.

For Bandcamp Friday, I finally bought Shekhinah's discography.  I've had Grace on CD for years and really love it.  They changed their name and released three more albums.  I'd categorize them as post-rock, though they're very eclectic and range from metal and industrial elements to soothing folk.  They are a Christian band too.  Check 'em out!

Been a slow year for me, nearly half way through March and I haven't purchased any new music from Christian artists (I think I only have two new secular albums even).  I did pre-order the Chosen Stranger cd, but that's more like a "reissue" than anything "brand new".

Awesome release!  While I had two of their demos already in MP3 and remastered myself, this sounds like they had a cleaner copy to start with.  Overall, my remaster was actually a tad louder, but mine also had some tape noise.  The tape noise is definitely reduced here.  Also, this CD compilation has two more tracks than what I already had.  Sweet!


LVictoria - Force Of The Spirit




Ok, I thought I would give this gal another chance even though I didn't like the 4 song EP she had already done.  It was all over the place musically, and the songwriting didn't feel like it was developed enough.  Sadly, the 7 song album isn't an improvement.  She has the pipes to deliver, and she isn't a bad lyricist, but the musical arrangements are too scattered to really keep my attention.  Does she want to be hard rock/metal, more alt rock like Crowder, or a pop diva?

I will give this another spin, but on first listen, I couldn't stand most of the tracks on this.  It's just not good.  Unless she decides to go full on hard rock, I am done with this little lady.  This is two projects in a row that I took a chance on of hers and couldn't stand them.  So, I think I am going to sit any more of her releases out until she gets a producer who can lead her into a realm where she truly finds herself.  This album isn't it.

I had both of those MP3 boots myself, and I agree this CD sounds pretty darned good.  Very glad to have this reissue (probably for the first time on CD) in my coolection.

I loved the torrential riff sample of Ain't No Loser.  If the rest of the album is like that, then it will be a top Bride album.  12 o'clock was great, and Makes Me Want... was good, but Ain't No Loser was awesome.

Let me know what you think of it.  I won't be getting my copy until probably July.
