As long as I've known her, my wife has been dropping hints that I should grow a beard. I finally caved and now have a pretty full beard! She got me a nice trimmer for Christmas, though I don't have any clue how to otherwise care for it. To the men with beards... do you use any products? Comb yours often? Or do you just have an epic beard that you wanna show off to the rest of us?!? Here's where to discuss all things beardy.
And to start off, here's a somewhat recent photo of me with mine haha.

Here's mine. I don't comb or brush it. I do wash it every day. Trim every couple of weeks and talk nicely to it so that it has a strong self esteem.

I am currently bestubbled. Don't really feel like shaving. Chalk it up to the cold and to laziness.

Mine seems to refuse to grow past a certain point (that is not all that full) so I have a 'stache/goatee thing like Xid it appears that I trim short at least once a month when I trim my hair.
My son's is much fuller and longer than mine has ever been and he just combs it AFAIK.

I just started to go back with a goatee and got a beard trimmer that works really well. I trimmed my mustache to 3 mm to match the rest of the goatee.

I wish I had a beard trimmer. I use my hair-clippers in an attempt to keep it from getting too out of hand, but it doesn't have much finesse and I have found my self chopping off much more than I intended. I can't grow hair very well on the sides of my face (for some weird reason), so I tend to stick with the goatee. It's a little bushier and longer than my wife cares for in the current photo. I've basically had the same facial hair for the last 25 years (it just keeps getting more and more grey). Funny story, I shaved it all off once (several months ago) and my adult children didn't even notice. My wife on the other hand was NOT happy. She told me I had to grow it back.
My "beard" in 1997 (with my cute little daughter who isn't anywhere near that little anymore)
And here is what it looks like currently.

When I had my long beard, it was before the craze and all the products came out. I used to shampoo it and comb it out. I would also put argan oil in it to help keep it soft and a little shine. Sometimes I would run a pomade through it to help keep it from getting frizzy. Some of it depends on how you want it to look. Funny thing is, as I've grown older, the white hairs are thicker and have a mind of their own. It's hard to keep it from going in some weird directions.

Like Gary, I shaved mine once in the last 20 years. My wife couldn't handle it. I didn't look like her husband. Combine that with our boy leaving for college and she was a mess. I started letting it grow back the day after shaving it.

After we make the big move to Arizona in a few months here I might look into getting a trimmer, and possibly some oil. My skin gets really dry when I'm in Arizona and I have to use something on it (lotion, body butter), so I might look into some beard oil or something along those lines as well.
I really wanted to get some mustache wax and make myself a keen handle-bar mustache....but the wife said no.

Since this is someone's wife we are talking about, shouldn't this be called a Miss Adventure?

Mostly over the years I have had a goatee. I usually use an electric beard/starch trimmer. Over the past few months I have been a bit lazy about that and have just been letting it all grow to a full beard...or at least as full as it can get. I am a bit like Gary, the sides don’t grow as much as the goatee region.
In my younger days it had a bit of a reddish tinge to it.
