I am not listing Bride as one of the choices. I want to know what your favorite side projects of Dale's are your favorite. He's involved with the following:
Perpetual Paranoia, The World Will Burn, The Thomas Thompson Earth Project, We Are Resolute, Dabster Gentlemen, Haunted No More, Iron 501, Soverign Cross, Swingle & Thompson Ordained, No Other God N.O.G., Dominus Meus, Crucible Divine.
I don't know if all of these have been released yet or not. There are a few I am not interested in like Dabster Gentlemen or Haunted No More.
I have made it where you can vote for multiple and can even change your vote if you change your mind.

I don't care for any of them that I've heard. Dale's vocals are pretty 1 dimensional and sound pretty much the same across the board. The one song I heard of Dabster Gentlemen was terrible.

I agree. This is where I think some professional help might come in hand. Overall it sounds like he might be giving it great effort, but the recording itself is lacking something.

I gotta go with Swingle & Thompson Ordained because of the classic rock vibe and N.O.G. for it's straight up metal sound. I enjoy The World Will Burn, but not every song connects with me.

I absolutely love Brydesdale, as that sounds like Snakes to me. But they've only done 2 songs. Wish they'd do 8 more and make an album!

I'm not a huge fan of Dales vocals (at least not for the last decade or so). So I haven't owned but two of those releases. I selected Dominus Meus mostly because of the cool guitar work and neat contrast in Dale's & John's vocals. I owned N.O.G. and disliked it so much that I passed it on to another fan.

I think some of it is that he is pushing out so much material that most of it isn't steller. It is still better than "okay", but not having a real producer to push Dale's performance is a deterrent. Some of the projects he has sang on, while good, needed a professional producer on the music as well. But, at least we are getting some decent Christian metal out of these projects.

I forgot to add that one. Hopefully, we will see a full project come out of that. I probably should not have listed Crucible Divine, either. They haven't released their album with Dale. I don't remember who sang on their first one from several years ago.

There was no "none" choice so I didn't vote.
I'm sure I have heard a few of those on internet stations but DM is the only one I know for certain since John posted videos and I like John's playing. I think anything after Snakes... has been past his prime. He's no Christian Rivel (Liljegren) or Rob Rock for sure.

For Fundy, I added BrydesDale, and for topshot I added an option to choose "none".

Hmmm. I'm not seeing "none". EDIT: fixed it for myself. It's nice to have power sometimes.

I suppose you better be pretty special if you're going to sing/play on a ton of albums, but there have been a number of long-lived mediocre (IMHO) artists over the years so there are apparently a lot of people willing to put up with mediocrity.

I voted for 501, TWWB, and DM. 501 because I just love the idea of a band that revolves around the bass and I love the subject of their lyrics (celebrating amazing, lesser known Christian historical figures). DM because I adore John's playing and I love DM-1 so I can't not love DM-Revocalized. TWWB because I think Alan Zaring is a seriously talented songwriter. Plus, I think Dale did a lot of lower range vocals on this one which is where I think his voice is coolest.

While I play guitar, I am primarily a bass player. For some reason, I didn't care for the one song I've heard of Iron 501 as it sounded incomplete not having any guitars on it. I am not a big fan of newer music by The Newsboys, either, as they don't even have a bass player in the band. It sounds okay, but it would sound better with a fuller band. I think this project could be a flop for Dale. Unless I hear something more that catches my ear, then I will sit this one out.

I'm on Dale burnout myself... Does every single band feel the need to SOUND LIKE BRIDE... No matter what it's Dale's vocal (which I'm cool with) but after the 5th project? 8th project?
You listed 'em Chris...
The quality of his output has diminished rapidly and he has oversaturated the market... Why do I need to buy the new Bride to hear Dale? He's everywhere... "the hardest working man in Christian metal" by his own admission.... (seriously?!??!)
Sorry to blast here but my goodness already... and he came onto my Facebook page complaining about "why do we need to create lists of everything?" again... seriously?
I just ignored the comment but c'mon dude...
anyway ...

Hey guys Alan with The World Will Burn here. Everyone makes some good points. Some of you don't like Dale's voice, and that's a personal preference that no one can argue with. When we started TWWB Dale had decided to retire and was done with music. It's a long story on how we got together and made an album, but whether or not you like his voice you have to admit he is a super talented artist and I am glad he made the decision to write and sing again. We have released three albums so far since 2016. Like everything Dale does, he came back with a passion and a vengeance! He has started so many projects and bands that sometimes TWWB gets lost in the shuffle. One of the big challenges for me has been to keep TWWB different than the other projects and to try and separate us a little sonically. You may notice that we are a little more alternative and experimental, using odd sounds and musical textures that you don't often hear in heavy music. Especially on our last album, Dale does a lot more singing and less screaming. Even so, I know there is a lot of Dale music out there and it would be hard for someone to buy it all, or even to listen to it all. I am just shocked and blessed that anyone has taken the time to listen to TWWB so thank you if you have. Another good point is the lack of professional production. We pay a lot of money to have our music professionally mixed and it sounds luscious, but none of us have the resources to put together a fully funded recording that can direct these albums into the next level. Most are self funded, self produced, self financed and self promoted. I think this is common in the digital age for small bands like us. The good news is TWWB brought Dale back and we got two more Bride albums! If I have learned anything, Dale has an artist's heart and does everything 110% It doesnt matter if it is poetry (lyrics), creative writing, singing, or painting, Dale is a genius creator and he loves Jesus. Isn't it better to have too much of Dale rather than not enough? BTW love the board. It helps me stay connected with our underground world in a way that I could never do otherwise. Sorry for the long post!

Perfectly said Alan. If Dale put no music out we would have nothing to talk about, lol! I love Dale’s heart and passion and although I don’t like everything that he’s making, I do thoroughly enjoy the majority of music he is making, including TWWB!!! The world has changed in the way music is made, it’s not 1992 anymore and it’s actually given Dale an opportunity to share the gospel through his passion and God given talent. If people don’t like it, fair enough.... but seems the same people will be complaining that no new Christian Metal is coming out. The truth is, good quality Christian Metal is dying..... what new bands are emerging that are traditional Metal...... hardly anything. I’m extremely grateful that musicians like Dale Thompson, Michael Sweet, Christian Liljegren and Ted Kirkpatrick are flying the flag for us Christian Metal fans. Think as Christians we should be encouraging rather than knocking people, that’s just my opinion. Think the world needs to hear the message of Jesus more than ever, wouldn’t you agree?
