I like the sound of the Swingle & Thompson release. I am not sold on this Iron 501. This project has no guitar on it at all. It is just drums and bass.

I like his vocals on Iron 51 better, wish he'd do more like that, but musically it feels incomplete.

I soooooo wish he'd do a complete Brydesdale album. That is the closest to Snakes he's ever done.

I agree. I'm usually not a huge fan of Dale's voice, but I dig this tune....it just feels a little empty.

Now there is a guitar tone I can get behind. Since this is a vocal redeux, who did the vocals on the original version?

I did them as a growly speak type thing. It worked in some areas but these songs really needed Dale to belt out the lyrics. He didn't disappoint! It should be released in about 2 weeks. I'll post with a solid date when I have it.

Super cool. It would be a massive undertaking, but would be super cool to get a few different singers to record the vocals. You could even leave some of those growling (almost spoken word) vocals you put in there to accent some of the songs and introduce some variety. (I know Staybrite....shut up...it isn't as if I don't already have enough to do!).

Lol. Actually I did leave some of them in there for Re-Vocalized version of DM1 with Dale. Just a few here and there where they added a certain element to the song. But yeah that would be neat to have a group of people do it.

I like what you've done with this, and I don't care for growly vocals at all. If you really want to mess with people's heads, you keep that growly vocal and then get Jenny to harmonize with Dale on this and really fatten up that vocal. Then you get a powerful blend of rowdy, rough, and beauty all rolled into one.
I know--shut up, alldat! I already have enough to do!

This guy! Dale has been the indisputable busiest guy in solo and band efforts (done remotely) in recent years. He has surpassed Neal Morse and arguably Michael Sweet for being the most restless Christian vocalist.

^Indeed! He's nearing Tim "Ripper" Owens status for sure haha. I've generally avoided his music due to theological reasons, but he's got a good voice and I've been enjoying the songs he sang on from Adorned Graves' new album.

Both the new Swingle & Thompson and the Thomas Thompson Earth Project albums are out. I received my copies of them today.
The first release by The Thomas Thompson Earth Project was just kind of weird and overly repetitive. The new one is definite a metal album with a lot of intensity. I think I will like the new one, but the first one I am glad that it was given to me by a friend.

Maybe some of these groups need to reach out to Rob Rock.

Considering that he has drastically slowed down his output in the past several years, that really wouldn't be a bad thing. He was putting out a new project every year with various projects, and now it seems like it is 4 or 5 years between a project. If I go more hard rock, I wonder if he'd sing for me?

Yeah, Rob hasn't recorded a solo studio album since 2007. I think all he has done in the last 10 years are the two most recent Impellitteri albums, and one Driver album back in 2012.
