| Years ago, Jeff Deyo made a splash in the CCM rock worship scene with his former band SonicFlood. Taking some inspiration from the old Petra Praise CDs, SonicFlood brought a then groundbreaking rock approach to the modern worship scene. Unfortunately, it was a formula that many artists tried to copy, and the scene became very stagnant. Jeff Deyo returns with a new CD called "Unveil" on May 22, 2007. He is bringing in a similar pop/rock mix that SonicFlood had, while ditching the current trend of recording a lot of tired cover tunes. (Bob Hartman & John Schlitt should have thought about that on their II Guys From Petra project!). Jeff is bringing to the table a fresh batch of original songs that he hopes to use to help people connect with God. You can preorder the CD, and hear clips of the new album here: http://www.brickhousedirect.com/product/1085.htm _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Just follow the link at the bottom of my first post, Yvonne. On the same page where you can preorder from Jeff, you can also hear clips and one full song. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Do you have the original SonicFlood CD? It also had Jeff Deyo singing on it.

| No, I don't have the original SonicFlood CD. Was Jeff Deyo the vocalist of SonicFlood? | |

| He was. SonicFlood started out as a band called Squint, but later changed their name when they wanted to start doing more worship focused music. They added Jeff as their singer. Later, Rick Heil (bassist for Big Tent Revival) was added as their permanent bassist, but not until after the CD photoshoot was done. So, he did not get mentioned in the credits. However, as time went on, the band broke up. Jeff Deyo ended up with the rights to the songs, and Rick Heil ended up with the rights to the name. So, he reformed the band and became the singer for the new SonicFlood. He remains so even today. But, the new version of SonicFlood has yet to regain the popularity that they had originally with the debut CD "SonicFlood" that featured Jeff.

| Jeff has made a total of 4 solo discs since leaving Sonicflood. "Unveil" is his fourth. He will have a greatest hits CD releasing in a couple of weeks. I got this CD today and I am loving it. Musically, it is a good mix of rock and pop. Lyrically, it is just Jeff singing of his love for Jesus. While not really groundbreaking with his lyrical approach, his simple ways of expressing how much the Lord means to him is refreshing. It might not qualify as "hard music", but I find it very uplifting in a time that I NEED some inspiration for my own personal walk.
