Oh wow, a rare BearDad sighting. Did you watch the show, how was Theocracy? I always wonder if they can pull off those vocal harmonies live.

I doubt it, Matt layers all that himself in the studio, which is why it sounds so good because it's all one voice.

While it's true that you don't get quite the same effect live, Theocracy is still very amazing live.

They don't. They have gotten somewhat better at it, but they really need an Oz Fox type in the band that can sing one great harmony, and it would be so much better. Either that or play to a track. Or none at all.

It doesn't help the backup guy's mic seems too quiet. Oh well, still pretty cool to see.

Listening to Ghost Ship this week. This is one of the few euro-style power metal bands I still enjoy. Most of the rest I just couldn't seem to stay interested in.

Theocracy was awesome! The other bands were all secular, and quality-wise went from "meh" to "pretty good", but Matt and co. were the obvious professionals and deserved the headline spot. It's still available (on YouTube, at least); Theocracy starts at 3:28:00.
Matt sounded awesome, though Jared, the bassist that attempted to do the harmonies, had great difficulty singing on key. :/ None the less it was a great show. There were a couple of times when Matt started a song acapella and 100% on pitch, though at times you could tell he was tired.

I'm enjoying this. Backup vox (bassist) is clearly a weak spot.

Judicator is cool, sound kind of like Blind Guardian and Iced Earth mixed with historical lyrics.
